Abiclav tablets for the treatment of bacterial infections in adults and children caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:
acute bacterial sinusitis; acute otitis media; confirmed exacerbation of chronic bronchitis; community-acquired pneumonia; cystitis; pyelonephritis; skin and soft tissue infections, animal bites; bone and joint infections.Composition
Active ingredients: amoxicillin, clavulanic acid.
1 film-coated tablet contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 875 mg of amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate equivalent to 125 mg of clavulanic acid.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch (type A), colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, opadry white (06B58855).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, to any drug from the group of penicillins, cephalosporins, other b-lactam antibiotics. Jaundice or impaired liver function as a result of taking amoxicillin and clavulanic acid in history.Method of application
The drug is intended for oral administration. Administer at the beginning of a meal to minimize potential gastrointestinal intolerance and optimize absorption of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
The tablet should be swallowed whole, without chewing.
Treatment can be initiated using parenteral forms of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid and continued with the drug.
Treatment should not be continued for more than 14 days without prior assessment of the patient's condition.

Pregnant women
The use of the drug during pregnancy should be avoided unless the benefit of its use outweighs the potential risk.
The drug can be used during breastfeeding. Both substances penetrate into breast milk. There are no harmful effects for the child, except for the risk of developing hypersensitivity, due to the penetration of traces of the active ingredients of the drug into breast milk.
Drivers
Adverse reactions (e.g. allergic reactions, dizziness, seizures) may occur, which may affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate other automated systems.
Children
Used for children over 12 years of age.
Overdose
Symptoms: Gastrointestinal adverse reactions and electrolyte disturbances may occur. Amoxicillin-induced crystalluria has been reported, leading in some cases to renal failure.
Convulsions may occur in patients with impaired renal function or those receiving high doses.
Treatment: Symptomatic, correction of water and electrolyte balance. The drug can be removed from the circulation by hemodialysis.
Side effects
The most common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
Storage conditions
Store out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
