Application features
Pregnant women

Cefepime passes into breast milk in very low concentrations. Therefore, during breastfeeding, the drug should be used only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the child.
Drivers
Since adverse reactions from the central nervous system may occur during treatment, you should refrain from driving or operating machinery.
Children
The safety and efficacy of cefepime in the treatment of uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis), uncomplicated skin infections, pneumonia, and in the empirical treatment of neutropenic fever have been established for age groups from 1 month to 16 years. The appropriateness of cefepime in these age groups is supported by the results of adequate and well-controlled studies.
Overdose
In cases of significant excess of recommended doses, especially in patients with impaired renal function, the use of hemodialysis accelerates the removal of cefepime from the body; peritoneal dialysis is ineffective.
Side effects
Cefepime is generally well tolerated, and side effects are rare, with an incidence of 0.1 - 1%.
Allergic reactions: rash, itching, fever, fever, anaphylactic shock. Digestive tract: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, stomatitis, colitis (including pseudomembranous). Cardiovascular system: chest pain, vasodilation, tachycardia. Respiratory system: cough, sore throat, shortness of breath. Central nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia, paresthesia, anxiety, confusion, convulsions.Interaction
When using high doses of aminoglycosides concomitantly with cefepime, renal function should be closely monitored due to the potential nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics. Nephrotoxicity has been observed after concomitant use with the diuretic furosemide.
To avoid possible drug interactions, cefepime should not be used simultaneously with solutions of metronidazole, vancomycin, gentamicin, tobramycin sulfate, and netilmicin sulfate. In case of simultaneous use with these drugs, each antibiotic should be administered separately.
