Acidin-pepsin capsules No. 50
Instructions for Acidin-pepsin capsules No. 50
Composition
1 capsule contains betaine hydrochloride (acidin, Betaine HCl) - 325 mg (mg), pepsin (Repsinum) (10,000 IU / g (g)) - 25 mg (mg), gelatin (capsule shell).
The mass of the capsule contents is 350 mg (mg) ± 7.5%.
Properties
Pepsin and hydrochloric acid, which is formed as a result of the hydrolysis of betaine hydrochloride (acidin), provide optimal acidity in the stomach, creating conditions for the digestion of food. Pepsin is an enzyme of gastric juice, one of the main proteolytic enzymes of the digestive tract. The precursor of pepsin - pepsinogen is produced by the cells of the gastric mucosa. In the presence of hydrochloric acid, which is contained in gastric juice, pepsinogen is converted into pepsin. Pepsin hydrolyzes proteins to peptides - splits the central peptide bonds in protein and peptide molecules (except keratins and other scleroproteins) with the formation of simpler peptides and free amino acids. Pepsin hydrolyzes peptide bonds formed by aromatic amino acids - tyrosine and phenylalanine most quickly. For example, those contained in meat, eggs, dairy products, nuts and seeds. Taking pepsin is especially important when the stomach does not release enough of the enzyme and, as a result, protein digestion is impaired. Pepsin acts only in the acidic environment of the stomach, when it enters the alkaline environment of the duodenum it is destroyed by pancreatic enzymes. Pepsin has optimal activity at pH 1.4-2.5. In the event of an increase in pH, activity decreases, and at pH more than 6.0 it stops.
Betaine hydrochloride (acidin) helps increase the acidity of the gastrointestinal juice, creates an optimal pH for pepsin activity. Creating a low pH sterilizes food (bacteria and viruses die in an acidic environment) and activates proteolytic enzymes. 0.4 g of acidin corresponds to approximately 16 drops of diluted hydrochloric acid. Betaine hydrochloride is hydrolyzed when administered into the stomach with the release of free hydrochloric acid. Recommendations for use. Use as an additional source of digestive enzymes for digestive disorders associated with insufficient pepsin production (achillis, hypo- and anacid gastritis, dyspepsia). When consuming difficult-to-digest protein and unusual foods. When consuming foods that usually cause gas formation and bloating.
Contraindication
Hyperacid gastritis, increased acidity. Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions. The effect of ACIDIN-PEPSIN is reduced with simultaneous administration of bases (antacids), heavy metals, tannin, acid-reactive drugs. Pepsin is destroyed by alcohol. A natural inhibitor of pepsin is pepstatin.
