Alteika-Ternofarm syrup bottle 200 ml

Althea is used for the complex treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system: laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, whooping cough.

Composition

Active ingredient: dry marshmallow root extract (4: 1). 5 ml of syrup contain dry marshmallow root extract (Althaeae radix extractum siccum) (4: 1) (extractant - water) in terms of polysaccharides 7.5 mg.

Excipients: sodium methylparaben (E 219), sodium propylparaben (E 217), citric acid, confectioner's sugar, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics

Direct-acting expectorant. A herbal preparation whose main active ingredients are polysaccharides, as well as pectins, amino acids, starch, etc.

The polysaccharides of the drug are absorbed into the blood, partially secreted by the bronchial glands and have an enveloping, softening and anti-inflammatory effect on the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, to a certain extent increasing the secretion of the liquid component of the bronchial secretion and normalizing its rheological properties (viscosity, elasticity, adhesiveness).

Strengthens the peristaltic movements of the bronchioles and the motor function of the ciliated epithelium of the bronchi, promoting the excretion of sputum.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Interaction

It is not recommended to use simultaneously with antitussives (e.g. codeine).

Application features

The presence of sodium methylparaben (E 219) and sodium propylparaben (E 217) in the composition of the medicinal product may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

The drug is not used because there is no information on the experience of using the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

The use of the drug usually does not affect the reaction speed when driving or working with other mechanisms.

Children

The drug is used in children from 2 years of age.

Method of administration and doses

The drug is taken before meals.

For children aged 2 to 6 years, a certain dose of syrup is diluted in the required amount of boiled water (10-15 ml).

The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually depending on the effectiveness of the therapy and is usually 7-14 days.

Overdose

Cases of drug overdose have not been described.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, increased salivation, irritation of the gastric mucosa are possible. In case of any adverse reactions, treatment with the drug should be discontinued and consult a doctor.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach of children.

Shelf life - 2 years. After opening, store for no more than 14 days at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
