Coloplast 1776 Alterna stoma two-component flange plate 50 mm cutout size 10-45 mm 5 pcs - is a special container for collecting secretions from the patient's intestines and bladder. The adhesive layer of the Alterna adhesive plate fixes the colostomy bag to the anterior abdominal wall for several days. The adhesive plate is thicker at the stoma and thinner at the edges. In addition, the Alterna plate has a ribbed edge, which gives the plate additional flexibility and allows it to repeat the curves of the body. Alterna plates have a built-in flange (ring) to which the stoma bag is attached. The flange should coincide with the flange of the stoma bag.

The adhesive layer is thermoplastic: under the influence of the natural heat of the skin, it becomes pliable and fills all folds and irregularities, preventing intestinal secretions from flowing under the plate, does not tighten the skin and does not constrain body movements. The adhesive plate is thicker at the stoma and thinner at the edges. The plate has a ribbed edge, which gives it additional flexibility, allowing it to repeat the curves of the body. Comfortable, reliable and airtight Alterna stomas and ureters made of noiseless, odorless multilayer polyethylene are invisible under clothing. How to use
Place the bag on a flat, horizontal surface with the flange facing down. Remove the flexible clip and, after removing the protective paper, stick it to the end of the bag. If the clip does not fit correctly the first time, peel it off and put it back in. Wrap the drainage end of the bag around the clip 4-5 times, turning it towards the soft substrate, then fold the edges of the clip in the opposite direction. If a plastic clip is used, the drainage end of the bag must be wrapped once before closing the clip.
The colostomy bag should only be placed on clean, dry skin.
Cut the hole. Mark the size and shape of the stoma on the adhesive plate template. Cut the hole according to the size and shape of the stoma. It is recommended to use hook-shaped scissors for cutting. The cut hole should not extend beyond the marks on the plate. Remove the protective film. Before removing the film, warm the plate between your hands. Remove the transparent protective film. Peel off the tab of the plate and remove the protective film by pulling on the tab of the protective film. Stick the plate. Place the plate around the stoma. To ensure a secure bond, carefully smooth the plate from the bottom up, pressing it firmly against the skin. Put the bag on the plate. Make sure that the bag latch ring is open. Put the flange (fixing ring) of the bag on the flange of the plate from the bottom up. Make sure that the bag is correctly positioned on the plate. Rotate the pouch to a comfortable position. Close the locking ring. Close the locking ring. A click indicates that the pouch is securely attached to the plate. Remove the stoma pouch. Open the latch ring by gently pressing on the latch. Remove the pouch from the plate by pulling it up and away from the plastic tab of the pouch attachment ring. If the pouch fits snugly against the skin and does not leak, do not remove it. First, rinse the stoma with warm water. Then wipe the pouch with a damp cloth and put a new clean pouch on it. Remove the pouch. Grasp the pouch by the tab and gently pull it apart from top to bottom while pulling the skin around the pouch with your other hand.
Draining (emptying) the bag
The stoma bag should be drained several times a day without removing it from the colostomy bag plate. To do this, open the ends of the clips, unfold the drainage end of the colostomy bag and empty the bag without detaching the clip. Wipe the drainage end of the colostomy bag with a damp cloth. Close the drainage end of the colostomy bag. Screw the drainage end of the bag onto the clamp 4-5 times, turning it towards the anterior abdominal wall, folding the edges of the clamp in the opposite direction.
