Composition

active ingredient: 100 ml of the drug contains: concentrated ammonia solution (as a 25% solution) 44 ml;

excipient: purified water.

Dosage form

Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: transparent, colorless, volatile, highly alkaline liquid with a pungent odor. During storage, the presence of sparkles and/or slight turbidity is allowed.

Pharmacodynamics

Ammonia solution belongs to the group of drugs that irritate nerve endings. The mechanism of action of ammonia when inhaled is reflex excitation of the respiratory center through the receptors of the upper respiratory tract - the endings of the trigeminal nerve.

When applied to the skin, it has an irritating and antimicrobial effect.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug does not enter the bloodstream.

Indication

Unconsciousness, with insect bites.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Not installed.

Application features

Topical application is possible only on intact skin.

In case of accidental damage to the mucous membrane of the eye, rinse with water several times (for 15 minutes with a break of 10 minutes) or 3% boric acid solution. Do not use oils and ointments. In case of damage to the nose and throat, use 0.5% citric acid solution or natural juices. In case of ingestion - drink water, fruit juice, milk, better - 0.5% citric acid solution or 1% acetic acid solution until the stomach contents are completely neutralized.

You should not violate the rules for using the medicine - this can harm your health.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the drug is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Method of administration and doses

To stimulate the respiratory center as an emergency measure: a small piece of gauze or cotton wool moistened with ammonia solution is carefully brought to the nostrils for 0.5 - 1 s.

For insect bites, ammonia solution is applied externally in the form of lotions (the duration of the procedure is up to 30 seconds).

Children

The drug is not used in children under 3 years of age.

Overdose

Increased manifestations of adverse reactions.

Therapy is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions

Inhalation of ammonia solution vapors may cause reflex respiratory arrest. Local application may cause irritation, dermatitis, eczema at the site of application, and allergic reactions.

If any adverse reactions occur, you should consult a doctor.

Expiration date

3 years.

The drug cannot be used after the expiration date indicated on the package.
