Composition

Ammonia solution belongs to the group of drugs that irritate nerve endings. The mechanism of action of ammonia when inhaled is reflex excitation of the respiratory center through the receptors of the upper respiratory tract - the endings of the trigeminal nerve.
When applied to the skin, it has an irritating and antimicrobial effect.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug does not enter the bloodstream.

Unconsciousness, with insect bites.

Application features
Topical application is possible only on intact skin.
In case of accidental damage to the mucous membrane of the eye, rinse with water several times (for 15 minutes with a break of 10 minutes) or 3% boric acid solution. Oils and ointments are not used. In case of damage to the nose and throat, 0.5% citric acid solution or natural juices are used. In case of ingestion - drink water, fruit juice, milk, better - 0.5% citric acid solution or 1% acetic acid solution until the stomach contents are completely neutralized.

Children
The drug is not used in children under 3 years of age.

Side effects
Inhalation of ammonia vapors may cause reflex respiratory arrest.
When applied topically, irritation, dermatitis, eczema at the site of application, and allergic reactions are possible.
