Composition

active ingredients: 1 tablet contains: Thermopsis lanceolate herb (Herba Thermopsidis lanceolata) in fine powder 0.0067 g, sodium bicarbonate 0.25 g;

excipients: talc, calcium stearate, potato starch.

Main physicochemical properties: tablets of greenish-gray or yellow-brown color, flat-cylindrical shape with a bevel and a score. The presence of inclusions is allowed.

Pharmacodynamics

Thermopsis herb has an expectorant effect, has a moderate irritating effect on the receptors of the gastric mucosa, and reflexively increases the secretion of bronchial glands.

Alkaloids (cytisine, methylcytisine, pachycarpine, anagirine, thermopsin, thermopsidin) contained in the herb thermopsis have a stimulating effect on the respiratory center, and in high doses - on the vomiting center.

Sodium bicarbonate stimulates the secretion of bronchial glands and helps reduce the viscosity of sputum.

Not studied.

Indication

In complex therapy for diseases of the upper respiratory tract accompanied by cough with sputum that is difficult to separate (tracheitis, bronchitis).

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, gastric and duodenal ulcers in the acute phase, hemoptysis.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Adsorbents, astringents and enveloping agents can reduce the absorption of alkaloids of the herb Thermopsis in the gastrointestinal tract. The drug should not be used simultaneously with drugs containing codeine and with other drugs that suppress cough.

To improve liquefaction and expectoration, it is recommended to drink plenty of warm fluids.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

Studies on the effects on the ability to drive or use machines have not been conducted.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Contraindicated.

Method of administration and doses

Adults should take the drug orally, 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days, children from 12 years old - ½-1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Children

The use of the drug in children under 12 years of age is contraindicated.

Overdose

Nausea, vomiting, weakness, diarrhea, dizziness, cold sweat, pallor, cyanosis of the mucous membranes; in severe poisoning, impaired consciousness, agitation, hallucinations, and convulsions are possible.

Treatment – gastric lavage, saline laxatives, activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions

In case of individual hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions may develop, including hyperemia, rash, itching and swelling of the skin. When taking large doses - vomiting.
