Antitussin tablets No. 20

Antitussin is indicated in complex therapy for diseases of the upper respiratory tract accompanied by cough with sputum that is difficult to separate (tracheitis, bronchitis).

Composition

Active ingredients: 1 tablet contains 0.0067 g of Thermopsis lanceolata herb in fine powder, 0.25 g of sodium bicarbonate;

Excipients: talc, calcium stearate, potato starch.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase, hemoptysis.

Method of application

Adults should take the drug orally 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days, children over 12 years old - ½ -1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Children

The use of the drug in children under 12 years of age is contraindicated.

Overdose

Nausea, vomiting, weakness, diarrhea, dizziness, cold sweat, pallor, cyanosis of the mucous membranes; in severe poisoning, impaired consciousness, agitation, hallucinations, and convulsions are possible.

Treatment - gastric lavage, saline laxatives, activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Side effects

With individual hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions may develop, including hyperemia, rashes, itching and swelling of the skin. When taking large doses - vomiting.

Interaction

Adsorbents, astringents and enveloping agents can reduce the absorption of alkaloids of the herb Thermopsis in the gastrointestinal tract. The drug should not be used simultaneously with drugs containing codeine and with other drugs that suppress cough.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.
