Composition
Each capsule contains: benfotiamine 300 milligrams (mg).
Properties
Benfotiamine in the human body is converted into biologically active thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). TPP plays an active role in important functions of carbohydrate metabolism. In the process of converting pyruvate to acetyl CoA and transketolase in the pentose phosphate cycle, thiamine pyrophosphate acts as a coenzyme. In addition, it participates in the conversion of α-ketoglutarate to succinyl CoA in the citric acid cycle. In the process of metabolism, there is an interaction with other B complex vitamins.
Benfotiamine is a synthetic fat-soluble form of thiamine that has an increased absorption rate compared to the water-soluble natural form of vitamin B1. Thiamine is an essential trace element that helps the body produce proteins and fats by helping to metabolize carbohydrates. Vitamin B1 also helps the body by converting energy from food into fuel for the cardiovascular and nervous systems, thereby supporting the heart, brain, and nerves. Benfotiamine has a significantly higher bioavailability than water-soluble thiamine derivatives. In addition, benfotiamine is retained in tissues for a longer period. The increased absorption rate of benfotiamine may help it in the treatment of conditions associated with thiamine deficiency, such as diabetic neuropathy.
People with alcohol dependence, eating disorders, poor nutrition, limited access to nutritious food, kidney disease, or diarrhea are at increased risk of developing thiamine deficiency. Also at risk for vitamin B1 deficiency include people who have lost weight or had gastric bypass surgery, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have hyperthyroidism or HIV/AIDS, or are taking diuretics or medications that promote fluid loss.
Thiamine and other nutrients in combination may help reduce the risk of cataracts. Optic neuropathy is associated with thiamine deficiency. Symptoms include loss of light sensitivity and severe vision loss. Benfotiamine supplements may help relieve symptoms of optic neuropathy more quickly than thiamine supplements due to the increased absorption rate of benfotiamine.
Recommendations for use
Benfotiamine-Bexpharm is used as an additional source of thiamine in polyneuropathy and cardiovascular disorders caused by vitamin B1 deficiency; clinically confirmed vitamin B1 deficiency or unbalanced nutrition (e.g., beriberi), parenteral nutrition for a long period of time, a "zero" diet, hemodialysis, impaired absorption of nutrients, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes mellitus, chronic eye diseases (cataracts, optic neuropathy), increased need for vitamin B1 (e.g., during pregnancy or breastfeeding); chronic alcoholism (alcoholic cardiomyopathy, Wernicke's encephalopathy, Korsakoff's syndrome), which has a beneficial effect on the state of the nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine and digestive systems. It is recommended to follow a balanced diet, limit sugar, salt, sweets, alcohol.
A dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a complete diet.

Reservation
Individual sensitivity to components. Benfotiamine is incompatible with mercuric chloride, iodide, carbonate, acetate, tannic acid, ferric ammonium citrate, as well as with phenobarbital, riboflavin, benzylpenicillin, fluorouracil, glucose and metabisulfite, since it is inactivated in their presence. Copper accelerates the decomposition of benfotiamine.
Method of application
Adults: 1 capsule (300 mg) once daily after meals with a glass of water. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
It is recommended to consult a doctor before use. Duration of use up to 3 weeks. Longer duration of use and the possibility of repeated courses should be agreed with the doctor. Do not use after the expiration date.

10 capsules in blisters, 30 capsules (10x3) in a cardboard box.

Storage conditions
