Instructions for BerryMan tablets No. 14
Active ingredients
D-mannose is a plant monosaccharide with natural antibacterial properties. D-mannose is slowly metabolized in the body and reaches the bladder unchanged. In the bladder, it coats the mucous membrane with a thin layer, thereby preventing Escherichia coli bacteria from attaching to the bladder walls and promoting the excretion of bacteria with urine.
There are studies that show the effectiveness of alpha-D-mannose in acute simple cystitis and in preventing recurrent cystitis.
Properties of D-mannose compared to antibiotic therapy:
- does not affect conditionally beneficial flora and does not cause dysbacteriosis;
- does not provoke the emergence and growth of fungal infections;
- does not put an additional burden on the gastrointestinal tract;
- does not cause an addictive effect in pathogenic microorganisms.
BerryMan contains cranberry extract with a guaranteed amount of proanthocyanidins - 60 mg PAC (The quantitation of cranberry proanthocyanidins).
Cranberry bioflavonoids - proanthocyanidins, prevent pathogenic bacteria2 (mainly E.coli, which in 90% of cases is the cause of urinary tract infections) from settling and multiplying on the mucous membrane of the bladder and causing inflammation. Cranberry proanthocyanidins exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, wound-healing properties and enhance the effect of antibiotics and antiseptic drugs.
Cranberries contain organic acids that help maintain the pH (acidity) of urine within physiological limits and prevent the formation of kidney stones:
- ursolic acid has a diuretic effect,
- Quinic acid acidifies urine, is not transformed in the body and is excreted unchanged.
Increased diuresis in bacterial diseases of the bladder contributes to additional sanitation of the urinary tract, washing out pathogenic bacteria.
Echinacea purpurea extract has immunomodulatory properties, alleviates symptoms of infectious diseases and inflammatory processes, and prevents relapses.
Also, according to research results, this combination of biologically active substances is possible for use in cystitis and urinary tract infections in pregnant women.4
BerryMan modified-release tablets, coated with an enteric coating, are manufactured in a modified-release gelatin coating, enteric-coated, which provides increased bioavailability of active ingredients and does not irritate the gastrointestinal tract.
