Composition:

Active ingredients: boric acid, menthol; 1 g of ointment contains boric acid 0.05 g, menthol 0.005 g

Method of administration and doses.

Children.

Contraindicated for children under 3 years of age. At this age, reflex respiratory arrest is possible.

Overdose.

With prolonged use with preparations for external use on large affected surfaces, symptoms of acute poisoning may occur, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, circulatory disorders and depression of the central nervous system, decreased body temperature, skin rashes, shock, coma. With prolonged use, symptoms of chronic intoxication may occur: exhaustion, stomatitis, eczema, local tissue edema, menstrual disorders, anemia, convulsions, alopecia.

Treatment is symptomatic. Hemotransfusion, hemo- and peritoneal dialysis are indicated. In case of accidental ingestion, perform gastric lavage by tube, prescribe saline laxatives, enterosorbents (activated carbon), and symptomatic therapy. In case of severe poisoning, take measures to support the body's vital functions.

Adverse reactions.

Allergic reactions are possible, including skin redness, itching, urticaria, rash, edema, contact dermatitis, anaphylactic reactions, including shock, desquamation of the epithelium. When applied to large areas of skin, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, confusion, and renal failure are possible.
