3-3'-Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a dimeric form of indole-3-carbinol, which is found in cruciferous vegetables such as Brussels sprouts and broccoli. In the acidic environment of the stomach, indole-3-carbinol is rapidly converted to diindolylmethane, which can affect estrogen levels and has antiproliferative effects. Studies have shown that diindolylmethane supplementation can stimulate the production of a less potent but more beneficial form of estrogen, 2-hydroxyesterone. Preclinical studies have shown that diindolylmethane promotes the formation of estrogen metabolites that help maintain healthy breast, endometrial, and cervical tissues. DIM is also the first pure androgen receptor antagonist isolated from the Brassicaceae family.
Chasteberry fruits. Chasteberry (Vitex agnus-castus L.) is a shrub of the Chasteberry family, containing flavonoids, essential oils (cineole, pinene), diterpenes and iridoid glycosides. Chasteberry fruits and herb are usually included in the European Pharmacopoeia, BTF and pharmacopoeias of a number of European countries. Sulforaphane is a powerful phytochemical found primarily in green vegetables. Sulforaphane is formed by the hydrolysis of glucoraphanin, which is found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, watercress, etc. Sulforaphane has antioxidant (free radical scavenging), antibacterial, and cancer-protective properties.
