Composition of the medicinal product:

Pharmacological properties

The plant components that make up the drug have secretolytic, broncholytic and partially antimicrobial effects. Saponins from primrose roots and ivy leaves have secretolytic, and essential oils and flavonoids of thyme herb have broncholytic and secretolytic effects. Biologically active substances of ivy relax the smooth muscles of the bronchi and prevent the development of bronchospasm. The antibacterial effect of the drug is due to thymol, which is part of thyme essential oil.
Saponins of primrose and ivy are slightly absorbed in the intestines. The thymol component of thyme essential oil is excreted mainly through the lungs. Flavonoids of thyme (e.g. apigenin, luteolin) are broken down by the intestinal flora and are well absorbed. They are excreted unchanged or as metabolites, mainly in the urine. Thymol is excreted mainly through the lungs.

Indication

respiratory diseases accompanied by cough and sputum production, including acute and chronic bronchitis.

Method of application

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age are prescribed 1 tablet before meals 3 times a day. The tablets are swallowed without chewing, with a small amount of liquid.
Drops are prescribed orally, adults - 50 drops 3 times a day, adolescents aged 12-18 years - 35 drops 3 times a day, children aged 6-11 years - 30 drops 3 times a day. If necessary, the drops are taken with a small amount of liquid.
Shake the syrup before use, take 3 times a day, taking into account the age and body weight of the child:

If the body weight of a child over 1 year of age differs significantly from the norm for this age category, the dose of the drug is calculated based on the actual body weight: 1 drop per 1 kg of body weight + 10 drops (for example, the dose for a child weighing 20 kg will be: 20 + 10 = 30 drops). It is recommended to drink undiluted syrup with a small amount of liquid (water, juice, tea). For children under 6 years of age, the required amount of syrup should be diluted in 1 tablespoon of liquid.

Contraindication:

hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

SIDE EFFECTS:

In isolated cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur in the form of skin rash, gastrointestinal disorders (spasm, nausea, vomiting); allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face, mouth and/or throat). If adverse reactions occur, discontinue therapy and consult a doctor.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug is used only under the supervision of a doctor. It can be prescribed to patients with diabetes mellitus, since 1 tablet, dose of syrup or drops per 1 dose contains less than 0.03 XE.

Interaction with other drugs

Combined use with antibacterial agents is possible.

Conditions and shelf life

may manifest as dyspeptic symptoms, vomiting and diarrhea. Treatment is symptomatic.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:

in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. During storage, the syrup or solution may become cloudy, which does not indicate a change in the activity of the drug. An opened bottle of syrup or solution must be used within 6 months.
