Composition
active ingredients: chlorobutanol hemihydrate; racemic camphor; menthol.
1 cylinder contains chlorobutanol hemihydrate (calculated as 100% anhydrous substance) – 0.1 g; racemic camphor – 0.1 g; menthol – 0.1 g;
excipients: eucalyptus oil, isopropyl myristate, tetrafluoroethane.
Dosage form
Aerosol.
Main physicochemical properties: transparent colorless liquid, which is contained under pressure in a cylinder with a metering valve and, when leaving the cylinder, forms a dispersed jet with a characteristic aromatic odor.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Cameton exhibits antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and slight local anesthetic effects, helps to normalize breathing in patients. The drug constricts blood vessels, and also reduces blood perfusion and swelling of the affected area. The combination of these pharmacological properties provides a comprehensive pathogenetic therapy of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract. Cameton does not exhibit ulcerogenic and general toxic effects on the body.
Pharmacokinetics
Cameton is intended for topical use and forms a therapeutic concentration mainly in the focus of inflammation. Only chlorobutanol hydrate and camphor are slowly and in small quantities absorbed into the systemic circulation, which reversibly bind to blood proteins. During biotransformation, glucuronides are formed, in the form of which they are excreted by the kidneys.
Indication
Local treatment of acute and chronic (mainly in the acute stage) infectious and inflammatory diseases of the throat and nose: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, rhinitis.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Children under 5 years of age.

Application features
Before using Kameton, rinse your mouth with warm boiled water; the medicine should be used after meals. In case of burns, remove necrotic plaque from the affected areas with a sterile swab. Do not disassemble the bottle with the drug and do not give it to children, protect it from impacts, do not spray near fire. After using the drug, put a protective cap on the sprayer to prevent its contamination. When spraying into the nose, do not tilt your head back or turn the bottle over. It is not recommended to use the same bottle for several people to avoid the spread of infection. When spraying the drug, avoid getting it in the eyes. Before using the drug, people prone to allergies should definitely consult a doctor. The drug should be used with caution in children, as bronchospasm may develop. Treatment of children should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor. Before introducing the drug into the nasal cavity, the nose should be cleared of mucus. When treating the mucous membranes of the throat, the drug should be used after meals.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
There are no contraindications for using the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but the drug should be used during this period as prescribed by a doctor.
Method of administration and doses
For use in adults and children over 5 years of age. The drug is applied topically to the mucous membranes and affected areas of the throat and nose. A single dose of the drug for adults and children over 15 years of age is 2–3 injections into the throat cavity and 1–2 injections into each nostril, for children aged 5 to 12 years – 1–2 injections into the throat cavity and 1 injection into each nostril, for children aged 12 to 15 years – 2 injections into the throat cavity and 1 injection into each nostril. The drug is used 3–4 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually and depends on the intensity of therapy (usually 3–10 days). The drug should not be used for longer than 2 weeks.
Rules for using a balloon
Put the sprayer on the valve stem. Remove the protective cap from the sprayer. Insert the free end of the sprayer into the nasal cavity to a depth of 0.5 cm or point it at the affected area of the throat and press the sprayer. When spraying into the nose, do not turn the can upside down. After finishing irrigation, close the sprayer with the protective cap to prevent its contamination.
Children
Use in children over 5 years of age under the supervision of a physician.
Overdose
Overdose of the drug may cause allergic reactions. Overdose of the drug may cause increased side effects. Therapy is symptomatic.
Treatment: discontinuation of the drug, symptomatic therapy.
Adverse reactions
The drug is usually well tolerated, but sometimes reactions may occur due to increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, including a burning sensation/irritation in the throat, swelling at the site of contact, dryness of the nasal/throat mucosa, shortness of breath, swelling of the face, tongue, skin rashes, hives, itching.
If any adverse reactions occur, you should stop using the drug and be sure to consult a doctor.
Expiration date
3 years.
