Candid cream is used to treat fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, molds and yeasts, as well as other pathogens sensitive to clotrimazole. Skin infections caused by Malassezia furtur (tinker mite) and Corynebacterium minutissimum (erythrasma). Candidiasis vulvitis and candidiasis balanitis.

Composition

Active ingredient: clotrimazole;

1 g of cream contains clotrimazole 10 mg;

Excipients: propylene glycol, white soft paraffin, mineral oil, nonionic emulsified wax, benzyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium phosphate anhydrous, purified water.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or to any of the other ingredients of the product. Hypersensitivity to other imidazoles. Do not use the cream to treat nail or scalp infections.

Method of administration and doses

Adults: Apply Candid cream in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 1-3 times a day, using a 0.5 cm strip of cream per palm-sized area. After application, rub the cream in easily.

For candidal vulvitis or candidal balanitis in adults, apply a thin layer of cream (0.5 cm) to the affected areas 2-3 times a day (on the external genitalia and perineum in women or on the glans penis and foreskin in men) and rub in.

Treatment of candidal vulvitis or candidal balanitis requires simultaneous treatment of both partners.

To ensure the effectiveness of treatment, depending on the disease, it is necessary to continue using Candida cream for another 2 weeks after the disappearance of subjective symptoms. The disappearance of symptoms is expected after a course of treatment with Candida:

Clinical studies on the effects of clotrimazole on fertility in women have not been conducted, but animal studies have not shown any effect of clotrimazole on fertility. The number of studies using clotrimazole during pregnancy is limited. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity. As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid the use of clotrimazole during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with clotrimazole.

Children

There is no experience with the use of clotrimazole in the treatment of children, so it should not be used in this category of patients.

Overdose

There is no risk of acute intoxication, as overdose is unlikely to occur after a single vaginal dose or cutaneous application (application to large areas of skin under conditions conducive to increased absorption), or after accidental oral administration. There is no specific antidote.

In the event of accidental oral ingestion, gastric lavage may rarely be necessary if a life-threatening dose has been taken within the previous hour or if there are visible symptoms of overdose (e.g. dizziness, nausea, vomiting). Gastric lavage should only be performed if adequate respiratory protection is available.

Clotrimazole may reduce the effect of other topical antifungal drugs, in particular polyene antibiotics such as nystatin and natamycin.
