Composition:
Active ingredients: 1 ml of liquid contains licorice root extract thick (glycyrrhizae radix extractum spissum) (2.75: 1) (extractant - purified water) - 207 mg; anise oil - 3.4 mg; concentrated ammonia solution - 13.8 mg;
excipients: ethanol 90%, purified water.

Main physical and chemical properties: brown liquid, with the smell of ammonia and anise oil. During storage, sediment formation is allowed.

Combined drug with expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect. The substances included in the drug stimulate the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, dilute phlegm and promote its expectoration. Chest drops soften dry unproductive cough.

Indication.
In the complex treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by difficult sputum discharge.
Contraindication.
Impaired liver and kidney function, arterial hypertension, hypokalemia, severe obesity. Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions.
Hypokalemia (as a result of excessive use of licorice root) may be exacerbated by interaction with cardiac glycosides, antiarrhythmic drugs and drugs that affect the heart rhythm (e.g. quinidine). When used together with drugs that cause the development of hypokalemia (thiazide and loop diuretics, adrenocorticosteroids and laxatives), there may be a violation of the electrolyte balance, so the drug should not be used for a long time with the above drugs.
Thermopsis, marshmallow, and other expectorants enhance the therapeutic effect of the drug.
It is not advisable to take it simultaneously with antibiotics derived from the nitrofuran series.
The simultaneous use of other drugs containing ethanol should be avoided.
When using any other medications at the same time, you should consult a doctor.
Application features.
It is not recommended to use the drug for a long time, as this can lead to impaired water-salt metabolism and edema.
During storage of the drug, sediment may form, but this does not reduce its effectiveness. The bottle must be shaken before use.
This medicinal product contains at least 14% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. 69-138 mg/dose (20-40 drops), which is equivalent to 1.8-3.6 ml of beer, 0.7-1.4 ml of wine per dose.
Harmful for patients suffering from alcoholism. Caution should be exercised when used in pregnant and breastfeeding women, children, patients with liver disease, and those with epilepsy.
When using the drug, you should refrain from drinking alcohol.
The medicine contains ethanol! It is not recommended to use the medicine for a long time.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The drug is contraindicated for women during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as the drug contains ethyl alcohol and licorice root extract (the latter increases estrogen levels, resulting in hormonal imbalance). Stimulates uterine activity. In large doses, it has an embryotoxic effect in the experiment.
If it is necessary to take the drug for breastfeeding women, breastfeeding should be discontinued for the period of treatment.
The ability to influence the reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
During the treatment period, you should refrain from driving vehicles and performing work that requires increased attention and quick reactions.
Method of administration and doses.
Take 20-40 drops per dose 3-4 times a day. Take the drug 30 minutes before or 1 hour after a meal, having previously dissolved it in a small amount of liquid. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.
Children.
Since the drug contains ethyl alcohol, it should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Overdose.
In case of overdose, the manifestation of adverse reactions may be increased; prolonged use of licorice preparations in excessive doses may lead to the development of hypokalemia; in some cases, hypokalemic myopathy and myoglobinuria are possible. Cases of overdose have not been registered to date.
Adverse reactions.
On the part of the immune system: allergic reactions, including hyperemia, rash, itching, edema, bronchospasm.
Gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting.
Neurological disorders: sometimes short-term excitement, followed by depression of the central nervous system, hypokalemic myopathy.
Metabolic disorders: in excessive doses, it can cause disturbances in water and electrolyte balance and lead to the formation of edema, the development of hypokalemia, and myoglobinuria.
If any adverse reactions occur, the patient should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
