Chlortrianisene tablets are an antitumor agent, a synthetic analogue of estrogen.
Composition
Active ingredient: 1 tablet contains chlorotrianisene 12 mg.
Excipients: potato starch, talc, refined sugar, calcium stearate.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, acute and chronic liver diseases, genital bleeding of unknown origin, history of thromboembolic disorders.
Method of application
Administer to adults orally during meals.
Prostate cancer - prescribe 1 tablet (12 mg) 2-3 times a day. In case of metastases, additionally prescribe prednisolone.
Breast cancer - prescribe 1 tablet (12 mg) 4 times a day. Daily dose - 4 tablets (48 mg).
Maximum doses for adults: single - 1 tablet (12 mg), daily - 4 tablets (48 mg).
The drug is intended for long-term use. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.
Application features
For breast cancer, the drug should only be prescribed to patients in late menopause and with a removed uterus.
Use with caution in patients with diabetes, epilepsy, and heart and kidney diseases.
At the beginning of treatment, nausea, lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, swelling and pain in the mammary glands may occur, which usually resolve on their own.
When taking chlorotrianisene, you should avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, as the drug increases the skin's sensitivity to the sun.
If the patient has been diagnosed with an intolerance to some sugars, consult a doctor before taking this medicine.
Pregnant women
The drug should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If necessary, use of the drug should stop breastfeeding.
Overdose
In case of overdose, nausea and vomiting are present.
Treatment is symptomatic. There is no specific antidote.
Adverse reactions
Gastrointestinal tract: nausea, lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea.
On the part of the reproductive system: swelling and pain in the mammary glands, feminization in men, uterine bleeding in women.
From the cardiovascular system and blood system: manifestations of circulatory failure, thromboembolic complications, edema, arterial hypertension, increased blood clotting and viscosity, increased bleeding.
Others: allergic reactions, disturbances of mineral metabolism.
Interaction
Chlortrianisene, when used together, reduces the effectiveness of warfarin, insulin, thyroid hormones, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, rifampicin; increases the effectiveness of tricyclic antidepressants.
Should not be used concurrently with tamoxifen.
