Cistoral granules for oral solution 3 g, package 8 g No. 1
Cistoral granules will provide treatment of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to fosfomycin in adult patients, as well as in girls aged 12 years and older, as well as prevention of urinary tract infections during diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions in adult patients.
Composition
Active ingredient: fosfomycin, 1 packet contains fosfomycin 3 g
Excipients: sucrose, sodium saccharin, orange flavoring containing maltodextrin, acacia, ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol, sulfur dioxide (E 220).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, severe renal failure, age up to 12 years, undergoing hemodialysis.
Method of application
Cystoral is taken orally on an empty stomach, preferably before bedtime after emptying the bladder.
The contents of the package are dissolved in 1/2 cup of water, the dosage regimen is set individually.
Usually, a single dose for adults, including elderly patients under 75 years of age, in the acute phase of the disease is 1 packet at a time.
In order to prevent urinary tract infections during surgical intervention and transurethral diagnostic studies, the contents of one packet are taken 3 hours before the intervention and another packet 24 hours after the intervention.

Pregnant women
During pregnancy, the use of the drug is possible if necessary, if the expected effect of therapy for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
According to available data, fosfomycin has neither teratogenic nor fetotoxic effects.
Animal studies also did not reveal reproductive toxicity.
During breastfeeding, the use of the drug should be discontinued.
No studies have been conducted on use during breastfeeding.
Children
Possible use for the treatment of acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections in women aged 12 years and older.
There is insufficient data on the use of the drug for therapeutic purposes in boys aged 12 years and older, and there is also insufficient data on the use of the drug for prophylactic purposes in adolescents.
Overdose
Symptoms: vestibular disorders, hearing loss, metallic taste in the mouth, and a general decrease in taste perception.
Treatment: symptomatic and supportive therapy. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids to increase diuresis.
Side effects
The most common adverse reactions with a single dose of fosfomycin are gastrointestinal disturbances, mainly diarrhea. These phenomena are most often short-lived and resolve on their own.
Infections and infestations: vulvovaginitis.
On the part of the immune system: anaphylactic shock, allergic reactions.
From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, paresthesia.
From the cardiovascular system: tachycardia, arterial hypotension.
Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: asthma.
From the digestive system: diarrhea, nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, vomiting, pseudomembranous colitis.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: rash, urticaria, itching, angioedema.
Systemic disorders: fatigue.
Interaction
Concomitant administration with metoclopramide and other drugs that increase gastrointestinal motility reduces the absorption of Cistoral, which leads to a decrease in the concentration of Cistoral in serum and urine.
