Composition
active ingredients: blueberry shoots, common bean fruits, Eleutherococcus spinosa rhizomes with roots, rose hips fruits, horsetail herb, St. John's wort herb, chamomile flowers;
1 g of the collection contains: blueberry shoots – 0.2 g; common bean fruits – 0.2 g; Eleutherococcus spinosa rhizomes with roots – 0.15 g; rose hips – 0.15 g; horsetail grass – 0.1 g; St. John’s wort grass – 0.1 g; chamomile flowers – 0.1 g.

Main physicochemical properties: a mixture of heterogeneous pieces of grayish-green color with light yellow, grayish-brown, cream, yellowish-gray, orange-red, brownish-red, brown and white inclusions; the smell is weak, pleasant.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
The components of the collection contain essential oil, flavonoids, coumarins, polysaccharides, mineral salts, organic acids, tannins, alkaloids, resinous substances, bitter. This complex of biologically active substances exhibits hypoglycemic effect in type II diabetes mellitus, which makes it possible in some cases to reduce the daily doses of oral antidiabetic agents, increases tolerance to carbohydrates. In type I diabetes mellitus, no noticeable hypoglycemic effect was noted.
Indication
Type II diabetes mellitus of mild and moderate severity (as part of complex therapy).
Contraindication
Arterial hypertension, biliary dyskinesia, exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis or chronic enterocolitis, nephritis, nephrosis, nephrosonephritis, hyperthermic syndrome, increased excitability, epilepsy, acute infectious diseases, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, insomnia, neurocirculatory dystonia, thrombophlebitis and predisposition to it, circulatory failure, endocarditis, uncompensated diabetes mellitus, severe kidney disease, cholelithiasis.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
It is not recommended for use in patients taking anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides, contraceptives, antihypertensives (calcium channel blockers), hypocholesterolemic agents (statins), female sex hormones, and cardiac glycosides.
The drug may potentiate the effects of central nervous system stimulants, analeptics, hypoglycemic agents, and inhibit the effects of sedatives and hypnotics.
In complex therapy, Arfazetin helps reduce the doses of oral antidiabetic drugs.
Application features
It is recommended to shake the infusion before using.
When using Arfazetin in combination with antidiabetic drugs, it is necessary to follow the dosing instructions, precautions, and contraindications provided for oral antidiabetic drugs.
UV radiation should be avoided during treatment.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Contraindicated.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
Although there is no data on the effect of Arfazetin on reaction speed, the drug should be used with caution when driving or operating machinery.
Method of administration and doses
Place 5 g (1 dessert spoon) of the collection in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and infuse in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the residue to a strained infusion. Bring the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm, ⅓–½ cup 2–3 times a day 30 minutes before meals for 20–30 days.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before using.
Place 2 filter bags in a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, close and let stand for 15 minutes. Take 1 cup warm 2 times a day 30 minutes before meals for 20–30 days. It is recommended to repeat the treatment course after 10–15 days. Conduct 3–4 courses during the year.
Children
Use in children over 12 years of age under the close supervision of a physician.
Overdose
Increased manifestations of adverse reactions.
Side effects
From the nervous system: agitation, sleep disturbances, irritability, anxiety, decreased performance.
Dermatological reactions: allergic reactions, including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin edema, photosensitization.
From the cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure, tachycardia.
On the part of the urinary system: irritation of the kidney tissue, manifested by pain in the lower back and at the end of urination.
With prolonged use (more than 2 months), the drug may cause muscle spasms and digestive tract disorders.
