Indications for use
Coloplast is a paste-like product intended for application to the skin around the stoma before fixing the adhesive plate of the colostomy bag.
Its texture and composition allow you to completely level the surface of the skin if it has scars, pits, and other irregularities for maximum adhesion to the plate.
The paste layer reliably protects the peristomal skin from the aggressive effects of intestinal contents or urine and ensures reliable adhesion of the plate.

Creating a stoma requires both physical and psychological effort.
Constant fear of leaking feces or urine, unpleasant odor, and unforeseen accidents are notable factors that reduce the quality of life and delay rehabilitation in the postoperative period.

The composition applied to the periostomal area allows you to create a perfectly smooth skin surface, on which the colostomy bag plate can be easily, quickly and 100% hermetically installed.

Method of application
Make sure the skin is dry and clean before applying. If the skin needs smoothing, apply the paste in small portions to the spots, let it dry for 20-30 seconds and smooth with a spatula or fingers until completely smooth. Once smoothed, the stoma bag can be secured.
The paste can be applied directly to the plate around the stoma opening. Then adhere it to the body. For better adhesion, the product can be applied to the peristomal area as well as to the plate.
After squeezing the paste, it is necessary to close the tube lid tightly to prevent the composition from drying out.
Re-application of the paste is possible when using two-component systems.
Coloplast paste is then applied tightly around the stoma without removing the plate. As described above, the ring of paste is pressed tightly along the entire length of the stoma, after which the pouch can be replaced.
Withdrawal
Coloplast paste is very easy to remove. Small residues can be easily removed by rolling.
If reapplication is necessary, you can leave a little paste on the skin or wash it off with warm soapy water and a sponge.
In any case, it is better to leave a little paste on the skin than to cause skin irritation by trying to quickly and completely remove all residue.
Do not try to reuse paste that has already been used.
Using Coloplast paste in a manner other than as directed by Coloplast may cause complications or other problems for which Coloplast is not responsible.

If the paste has started to harden on the skin, lightly moisten your fingers with water and run them over the surface being corrected.
It is better to apply the paste in strips to skin with ulcers or wounds, as it contains alcohol.
When used in case of inflammation or minor skin damage, a skin test should be performed by applying a thin strip of paste to a limited, small area of skin.
If there are no severe skin reactions, you can use Coloplast paste.
