The Alterna Convex Light Extra two-component colostomy bag has a flange diameter of 50 mm. The hole cut in the plate is from 15 to 33 mm. This type of plate is suitable for retracted/flat stomas. Convex plates have a built-in reinforced convex flange to which the stoma bag is attached. The slight pressure exerted by the plate on the anterior abdominal wall slightly pushes the stoma upwards. If additional pressure is required on the peristomal area, the Convex system can be used together with the belt, which has ears for attaching the belt. The plate consists of a two-layer adhesive with a spiral structure. The light adhesive layer is absorbent and maintains normal skin condition and pH level. The dark adhesive layer provides reliable adhesion. This combination of adhesives provides reliable protection of the skin from the aggressive effects of intestinal secretions and painless detachment of the colostomy bag.

Using

Cut a hole in the stool to fit the shape and size of your stoma. Remove the protective backing from the fatigue plate to ensure the plate sticks to your skin. Make sure the skin around your stoma is clean and dry. To attach the colostomy bag, place the device with the adhesive plate against your body. Carefully slide the plate on and press lightly against your skin. Make sure the snap ring on the bag is open. Align the flange of the bag with the flange of the plate and slide the bag onto the plate. Close the ring and rotate the bag into a comfortable position. A “click” sound indicates that the bag is closed and securely attached to the plate. To remove the bag from the plate, open the snap ring and carefully remove the bag from the plate.
