Corsar N is a medicine that contains valsartan and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide). Indications for use are essential arterial hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
Warehouse
1 tablet contains 80 mg of valsartan and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide; excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, povidone (K29-K32), talc, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide; composition of the tablet shell: Opadry II 85G25455 Red (polyvinyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 3350, lecithin, red iron oxide (E 172), sunset yellow FCF (E 110));Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of Corsar® H or to other sulfonamide derivatives.
Severe liver dysfunction, cirrhosis and cholestasis.

Method of application
The recommended dose of Corsar® H is 1 tablet of 80 mg/12.5 mg per day. If blood pressure is not sufficiently reduced after 3–4 weeks of treatment, it is recommended to consider continuing treatment with a dosage of 1 tablet of 160 mg/12.5 mg per day. Tablets of 160 mg/25 mg should be prescribed to patients in whom a sufficient reduction in blood pressure is not achieved when using tablets of 160 mg/12.5 mg. If blood pressure is still not sufficiently reduced when using tablets of 160 mg/25 mg, it is recommended to consider continuing treatment with a dosage of 320 mg/12.5 mg. Tablets of 320 mg/25 mg should be prescribed to patients in whom a sufficient reduction in blood pressure is not achieved when using tablets of 320 mg/12.5 mg.
The maximum daily dose is 320 mg/25 mg.
Application features
Corsar® H should be used with extreme caution in patients with unilateral or bilateral renal artery stenosis or stenosis of the artery to a solitary kidney, as blood urea and plasma creatinine levels may increase in such patients.
Corsar® H should not be used in patients with primary hyperaldosteronism, as their renin-angiotensin system is not activated.
Pregnant women
The medicine should not be used by pregnant women.
Children
The drug Corsar N is not recommended for use in children due to the lack of data on safety and efficacy.
Drivers
At the beginning of using the drug (the period is determined individually by the doctor), it is forbidden to drive a car and perform work that may lead to an accident, given that dizziness or fatigue may sometimes occur.
Overdose
Overdose of valsartan may cause severe hypotension, which in turn may lead to depression of consciousness, development of vascular insufficiency and/or shock.
In case of an overdose of hydrochlorothiazide, the following symptoms may occur: nausea, drowsiness, hypovolemia, electrolyte imbalance and, as a result, arrhythmia and muscle spasms.
Side effects
Infections: viral infections, fever.
Metabolic disorders: dehydration.
Neurological disorders: headache, fatigue, dizziness, asthenia, vertigo, insomnia, anxiety, paresthesia.
From the organs of vision: blurred vision.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
