Properties
Zinc is an important trace element for the immune system and the body as a whole. Zinc is a cofactor for the synthesis of antiviral defense proteins in the human body, which regulates the proliferation, differentiation, and functioning of immune system cells.
Deflu® Defence Zinc tablets contain zinc glycinate - a chelated form of zinc and the amino acid glycine. Chelated forms of zinc are better absorbed in the intestines, even in conditions where zinc absorption is impaired.
Vitamin D3 affects the activity of immune system cells, participates in the functioning of innate and acquired immunity, and also helps eliminate inflammation. Vitamin D3 deficiency is a risk factor for the development of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). Prophylactic use of vitamin D3 during the period of ARVI and influenza is associated with stimulation of the synthesis of antimicrobial proteins capable of destroying microbial pathogens, including viruses.
The vitamin is an antioxidant. A sufficient concentration of vitamin C is necessary for the immune system to fight viruses and bacteria during periods of increased oxidative stress. Deficiency of zinc, vitamins D3, C, E, group B is one of the most common causes of impaired immune system function. A sufficient amount of vitamins D3, C, E, group B vitamins is needed to maintain immunity, form a full and adequate immune response.
