Dexafry is an anti-inflammatory ophthalmic agent. Corticosteroid. Intended for the treatment of non-infectious inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment of the eye.
Warehouse
1 ml of solution contains 1.093 mg of dexamethasone sodium phosphate, which corresponds to 1 mg of dexamethasone phosphate; excipients: disodium edetate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate; sodium chloride, water for injections.Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Infectious eye diseases, if concomitant antibacterial therapy is not used, such as:
acute bacterial purulent infections, including infections caused by Pseudomonas or mycobacteria; fungal infections; epithelial herpetic keratitis (dendritic keratitis), cowpox, varicella and most other viral infections of the cornea and conjunctiva; amoebic keratitis.Corneal perforations, ulcers and injuries with incomplete epithelialization.
Glucocorticoid-induced ocular hypertension.
Method of application
Typically, the medicine should be applied 1 drop in the affected eye 4-6 times a day.
In severe cases, treatment can begin with 1 drop every hour. Then, in case of a favorable therapeutic response, the dose should be reduced to 1 drop every 4 hours. It is recommended to gradually reduce the dose to avoid relapses of the disease. The course of treatment can last from several days to a maximum of 14 days.
Application features
The drug should be used with extreme caution and only in combination with antiviral therapy in the treatment of stromal keratitis or uveitis caused by herpes simplex; it is necessary to periodically perform slit-lamp biomicroscopy.
Pregnant women
The use of the drug during pregnancy is not recommended.
Children
The efficacy and safety of the drug for the treatment of children have not been established.
Drivers
As with other eye drops, instillation may cause temporary blurred vision.
Until this effect has passed, patients should not drive or operate machinery.
Overdose
In case of overdose with topical application, treatment should be discontinued and the eye(s) should be rinsed with sterile water.
Symptoms following accidental ingestion are unknown. However, as with other corticosteroids, adequate fluid intake, gastric lavage, or induction of vomiting may be recommended.
Side effects
Visual disorders: increased intraocular pressure, discomfort, irritation.
Endocrine disorders: Cushing's syndrome, adrenal suppression.
Storage conditions
Does not require special storage conditions.
Store single-dose containers in the sachet to protect from light.
