Dexamethasone-Darnitsa injection solution is used for the following indications:
Endocrine system diseases. Rheumatological diseases. Skin diseases. Allergic diseases. Diseases of the organs of vision. Gastrointestinal diseases. Respiratory tract diseases. Hematological diseases. Kidney diseases. Malignant oncological diseases. Brain edema. Shock.Composition
Active ingredient: dexamethasone;
1 ml of solution contains dexamethasone sodium phosphate 4 mg;
Excipients: sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, glycerin, benzyl alcohol, disodium edetate (Trilon B), water for injection.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to other components of the drug. Acute viral, bacterial or systemic fungal infections (if appropriate therapy is not used). Vaccination with a live vaccine. Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome. Intramuscular administration is contraindicated in patients with severe diseases of the blood coagulation system. In the case of local use - bacteremia, systemic fungal infections, infections at the site of application, including septic arthritis due to gonorrhea or tuberculosis, use in patients with unstable joints.Method of application
The medicine can be used by adults and children from birth.
Administer intravenously (as an injection or infusion), intramuscularly or locally - by intra-articular injections or injections into the lesion on the skin or into the soft tissue infiltrate. As a solvent for infusion, use 0.9% sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose solution.
When used in infants, especially premature infants, solutions intended for intravenous administration or further dilution of the drug should not contain preservatives.
When mixing the medicinal product with the infusion solvent, aseptic precautions should be observed. The mixture should be used within 24 hours, as infusion solutions usually do not contain preservatives.
Parenteral medicinal products should be inspected visually for particulate matter and discoloration prior to administration.
The dose of the drug should be determined individually, according to the disease of the particular patient, the intended period of treatment, the tolerance of glucocorticosteroids and the body's response.
Application features
Pregnant women
The drug should be used in emergency cases when the expected benefit to the expectant mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Children
The drug should be used from the neonatal period only if absolutely necessary. During treatment with dexamethasone, careful monitoring of the growth and development of children and adolescents is necessary.
Drivers
There is no data, but the possibility of developing adverse reactions from the nervous system and visual organs should be taken into account.
Overdose
Symptoms. There are isolated reports of acute overdose or death due to acute overdose. Overdose (usually only after several weeks of excessive doses) is manifested by symptoms of increased side effects described, in particular: primarily Itsenko-Cushing's syndrome, acne, ecchymoses, hirsutism, nausea, anorexia, gastrointestinal ulceration, joint pain, myopathy, myalgia, shortness of breath, dizziness, loss of consciousness, fever, increased blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis, orthostatic hypotension, development of infections, steroid diabetes, "moon-shaped" face, sexual dysfunction.
Treatment: symptomatic and supportive therapy. There is no specific antidote. Hemodialysis is not effective.
Side effects
On the part of the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions. On the part of the endocrine system: transient suppression of adrenal function. On the part of metabolism and nutrition: decreased tolerance to carbohydrates, increased appetite and weight gain, hypertriglyceridemia. On the part of the psyche: mental disorders. On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: peptic ulcer and acute pancreatitis. Side effects during long-term treatment with dexamethasone On the part of the immune system: decreased immune response and increased susceptibility to infections. On the part of the endocrine system: persistent suppression of adrenal function, growth retardation in children and adolescents, premature closure of the epiphyseal growth zones. On the part of metabolism and nutrition: obesity. On the part of the organs of vision: cataracts, glaucoma. On the part of the blood vessels: hypertension; telangiectasia. On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissues: thinning of the skin. Musculoskeletal and connective tissue: muscle atrophy, osteoporosis, aseptic bone necrosis, fractures of tubular bones. Side effects that may also occur in individual organs and systems during treatment with dexamethasone. Visual organs: increased intraocular pressure; exophthalmos; exacerbation of bacterial, fungal or viral eye infections; thinning of the cornea. Genital organs and breast: impotence, amenorrhea.Interaction
Do not mix the drug with other medicines.
