Composition
active ingredient: liquid plantain extract (Plantaginis lanceolatae folium);
100 g of syrup contains 5 g of liquid plantain extract (Plantaginis lanceolatae folium) (1:1), extractant: ethanol 20% (m/m);
(5 ml of syrup contains 0.32 g of liquid plantain extract (1:1);
Excipients: sugar beet syrup, honey, potassium sorbate, peppermint oil, invert sugar syrup, purified water.
Dosage form
Syrup.
Main physicochemical properties: viscous liquid of dark brown color with a pleasant odor, sweet taste.

Pharmacodynamics
The main active ingredients of plantain lanceolate are mucus, iridoid glycosides (aucubin, catapol), phenolcarboxylic acids (chlorogenic acid) and their glycosides (verbascoside), saponins, flavonoids, tannins. Thanks to these substances, plantain lanceolate has anti-inflammatory, secretolytic and antibacterial properties. It thins phlegm, promotes expectoration.

Indication
Symptomatic treatment of cough in infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to plantain (Plantago lanceolata) or to plants of the plantain family (Plantaginaceae), or to any of the excipients.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Do not use simultaneously with antitussives and drugs that reduce sputum production.
Application features
If shortness of breath, fever, or purulent sputum occurs while using this medicine, you should consult a doctor.
This medicinal product contains 1.62 vol. % ethanol, i.e. 190 mg/dose (15 ml), equivalent to 4.8 ml beer, 2 ml wine per dose. Harmful for patients with alcoholism. Caution should be exercised when used in pregnant and breastfeeding women, children, patients with liver disease and patients with epilepsy.
If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. This medicine contains 2.8 g glucose, 2.7 g fructose and 4.3 g sucrose per dose (15 ml). Use with caution in patients with diabetes. This medicine should not be taken by patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency.
May be harmful to teeth.
Use the drug with caution in patients suffering from hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer with increased acidity, and reflux esophagitis.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
The safety of use during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been established. Due to the lack of sufficient data, this medicine should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Method of administration and doses
Take the drug every 2–3 hours with equal intervals between doses (5–7 times a day): children aged 2 to 6 years – 2.5 ml, children aged 6 to 12 years – 5 ml, adults and children over 12 years – 15 ml. For correct dosage, use a measuring cup.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by the doctor, on average it is 5–7 days. If the patient's condition does not improve during the treatment period, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
Children
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported.
In case of overdose, for example, if the contents of the entire bottle are accidentally used, gastrointestinal disorders may occur.
