Composition

active ingredient: 1 bottle contains liquid extract of Eleutherococcus spinosa rhizomes with roots (Rhizomata et radices eleutherococci) (1:1) (extractant – ethanol 40%) – 50 ml;

excipient: none, except extractant.

Dosage form

Oral extract.

Main physical and chemical properties: dark brown liquid, slightly burning taste, peculiar smell. During storage, sediment formation is allowed.

Pharmacodynamics

The composition of Eleutherococcus spinosa rhizomes with roots includes eleutherosides A, B, B1, C, D, E, F, G, coumarin derivatives, flavonoids, essential oil, vegetable wax, resins, starch and other components. Due to the presence of eleutherosides, the drug increases physical and mental performance, visual acuity, resistance to adverse environmental factors, improves metabolism, has a slight stimulating gonadotropic and hypoglycemic effect.

Indication

Physical and mental fatigue, neurasthenia and psychasthenia, functional exhaustion of the central nervous system, which is accompanied by a decrease in working capacity; irritability and insomnia. Vegetative neuroses, postoperative period; in combination with other agents - in acute and chronic radiation sickness.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, hyperthermic syndrome, arterial hypertension, increased excitability, epilepsy, acute infectious diseases, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, insomnia, neurocirculatory dystonia.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

The drug may potentiate the effects of drugs that stimulate the central nervous system, analeptics, hypoglycemic drugs, and is a physiological antagonist of drugs that depress the central nervous system (including barbiturates, tranquilizers, antiepileptic drugs).

You should not violate the rules for using the medicine.

When using the drug in the afternoon, insomnia is possible. When using the drug, it is necessary to monitor blood pressure.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

The drug contains 40% ethanol, so it should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Method of administration and doses

Shake before use. The drug is administered orally 30 minutes before meals. Adults should take 20-30 drops once a day, children over 12 years of age should be given 1 drop per year of the child’s life once a day, previously diluted in a small amount of water, in the morning (i.e. before 3 p.m.). The course of treatment is 25-30 days; if necessary, repeat after 1-2 weeks.

Children

The drug is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age, as it contains 40% ethanol.

Overdose

Possible increase in blood pressure, sleep disturbances, heart rhythm disturbances, decreased performance, and increased excitability.

Therapy is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions

The drug is usually well tolerated, however, in patients with hypersensitivity, allergic reactions (redness of the skin, rash, itching, etc.) may develop.

From the side of the central nervous system: agitation, sleep disturbances, irritability, anxiety, decreased performance.

From the cardiovascular system: tachycardia, increased blood pressure.

Long-term use (more than 2 months) may cause muscle spasms and digestive system disorders.
