Embrya Fol tablets 100 mg No. 150
composition
L-methylfolate – 208.0 mcg (equivalent to 200 mcg of folic acid), folic acid – 200.0 mcg, potassium iodide – 262.0 mcg (equivalent to 200 mcg of iodine), auxiliary components.
Properties
L-methylfolate is the most biologically active form of folic acid, capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. It is the predominant trace element form of folate that circulates in blood plasma and participates in biological processes. It is essential for the health of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as for proper cell division.
Folic acid is especially necessary in the early stages of embryonic life, as well as during the growth and development of the human fetus. It participates in hematopoiesis, ensures protein metabolism, RNA and DNA biosynthesis, which is especially important for growing tissues. Its deficiency leads to the accumulation of homocysteine in the plasma, which is an indicator of atherosclerotic changes. The absence of folic acid deficiency during pregnancy significantly reduces the risk of birth defects (including neural tube defects, Spina bifida), hypotrophy and prematurity.
Iodine is essential for healthy brain development in children during fetal development and early life. Women's iodine needs increase significantly during pregnancy due to the need to provide the fetus with sufficient iodine. Iodine deficiency can cause metabolic disorders in both mother and child, as well as delayed mental and physical development of the child.
The need for folic acid and iodine increases significantly during pregnancy and breastfeeding and cannot be compensated in sufficient quantities by a healthy and balanced diet. Additional intake of folic acid and iodine can significantly reduce the risk of neural tube defects and impaired mental and physical development of the child. Therefore, gynecologists, endocrinologists and other specialists recommend that all women of childbearing age, pregnant women and breastfeeding women take 400 mcg of folic acid and 200 mcg of iodine daily (which corresponds to 1 tablet of EMBRYO® Fol).
Indications for use
