Composition

1 film-coated tablet contains:

Ingredients: choline bitartrate, filler: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium L-ascorbate, fully hydrogenated soybean oil, iron bisglycinate, glazing agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, filler: tridimensional sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose, dye: calcium carbonate, maltodextrin, glazing agents: polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, talc and hydroxypropyl cellulose, nicotinamide, acid: citric acid, anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids, fatty acids and dicalcium phosphate, DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, calcium-D-pantothenate, modified starch, pyridoxine hydrochloride, sucrose, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, starch, calcium-L-methylfolate (Metafolin®/Metafolin®), folic acid, potassium iodide, D-biotin, sodium selenate, cholecalciferol, cyanocobalamin.

Properties

It is extremely important to ensure adequate folate intake during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for neural tube defects in the fetus*.

The folates in the dietary supplement Femibion® 1 include folic acid and Metafolin®.

In the body, folic acid is converted into a biologically active form. Medical data show that the body of every second woman cannot completely convert folic acid into its active form. Metafolin® is a biologically active, available form of folate that does not require prior biotransformation. METAFOLIN® is an active form of folate that is easily absorbed. Due to this, METAFOLIN® is more available to the body and is absorbed better than folic acid. The dietary supplement Femibion® 1 contains folic acid and METAFOLIN® to ensure the necessary level of folate in the body of a pregnant woman, even in those women whose body cannot fully convert, and as a result, absorb folic acid.

Women planning pregnancy are recommended to start taking folic acid and its active form METAFOLIN® at least one month before and continue for 3 months after conception. Breastfeeding women have a higher need for folic acid. After four months of a folic acid deficiency in the diet, depletion of its reserves in the body is observed.

The dietary supplement Femibion® 1 contains vitamin D, which ensures sufficient intake of this nutrient during pregnancy. Vitamin D contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and plays a role in cell division.

The dietary supplement Femibion® 1 also contains other carefully selected ingredients, including nine vitamins (B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E), iodine, selenium, choline and iron.

Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and the reduction of fatigue. Choline ensures normal homocysteine metabolism.

* Supplemental folic acid increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus.

Therefore, women are advised to take folic acid in the form of a dietary supplement at least one month before and for 3 months after conception. Several risk factors contribute to the development of neural tube defects. The impact of one factor may not always lead to a beneficial effect.

Since folate also contributes to the growth of the placenta during pregnancy, it is important to ensure adequate folate intake throughout pregnancy. The placenta provides the fetus with all the nutrients it needs.

The dietary supplement Femibion® 1 contains the following nutrients:

+ Folic acid

A B vitamin that is converted to folate in the body. Folates contribute to normal blood formation, cell division, and placental growth during pregnancy. Achieving adequate folate levels in the mother during pregnancy may reduce the risk of neural tube defects and certain heart defects in the baby.

+ Metafolin®

It is a bioavailable, active form of folate that does not require prior biotransformation.

Choline is a nutrient that is essential for the brain and other tissues to form cell membranes. This is especially important during pregnancy due to the rapid rate of cell division. Choline must be consumed in the diet because humans cannot synthesize enough choline in the liver to meet the body's needs. Choline contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine, which is important at various stages of life, including pregnancy. Choline is required for cell division and growth, which is very important in early embryogenesis, and is also important for the functioning of the placenta. The need for choline increases during pregnancy. Some studies show that increasing the intake of choline by a woman during pregnancy, and by the child during early life, slightly improves cognitive performance in the child.

+ Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in bone metabolism, regulating calcium and phosphate metabolism. Vitamin D contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and plays a role in cell division. Vitamin D is particularly important during pregnancy to ensure the mineralization of fetal bones and the formation of tooth enamel in the unborn child. Recent evidence suggests that vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency are common during pregnancy, even in regions with sufficient sunlight throughout the year.

+ Iodine

Promotes normal hormone production and normal functioning of the thyroid gland.

+ Vitamins B1, B2 and Biotin

Supports normal energy metabolism and contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

+ Vitamins B6, B12, Niacin and Pantothenic Acid

Helps reduce fatigue.

+ Vitamin C and Selenium

Supports the normal functioning of the immune system.

+ Vitamin E

Helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

+ Iron

Indications for use

It can be included in the diet recommended by a doctor for women in order to optimize the chemical composition of the diet as an additional source of folic acid, vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, E, biotin, niacin, pantothenic acid, iodine, selenium, iron, choline.

Individual sensitivity to the product components. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. It is recommended to consult a doctor before consumption. The product should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.

Method of administration and doses

Women take 1 tablet per day, washed down with plenty of water.

Duration of use: recommended for those planning pregnancy and pregnant women until the end of the 12th week, the possibility of further consumption should be agreed with the doctor.
