Floxanext 3 mg/ml eye drops 10 ml




FloxaNext is indicated for the topical treatment of external ocular infections (such as conjunctivitis and keratitis) in adults and children caused by microorganisms susceptible to ofloxacin. Official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents should be considered.
Composition
The active substance is ofloxacin (1 ml of solution contains 3.0 mg of ofloxacin).
Excipients: benzalkonium chloride solution, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid (if necessary), water for injections.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the active substance and excipients of the drug, to other quinolones.
Method of application
The drug is intended for topical use in the eye only.
The first 2 days, 1-2 drops are instilled every 2-4 hours, and then 4 times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed 10 days.
Application features
Pregnant women
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of the use of FloxaNext in pregnant women. Since systemic fluoroquinolones can cause arthropathy in immature animals, the drug should not be used during pregnancy.
Because ofloxacin and other systemically administered quinolones are excreted in human milk and there is a potential for harm to the nursing infant, a decision should be made whether to temporarily discontinue breastfeeding, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
Ofloxacin had no effect on animal fertility.
Children
Safety and efficacy in children under 1 year of age have not been established.
Drivers
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been conducted. Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation of eye drops. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery until your vision has cleared.
Overdose
In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment should be used. Since QT interval prolongation is possible, ECG monitoring should be performed.
Side effects
On the part of the organs of vision: often (from ≥ 1/100 to <1/10) - eye irritation, eye discomfort.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging, protected from light and out of reach of children. The drug does not require special temperature storage conditions.
The shelf life of a closed bottle is 30 months.
After opening the contents of the dropper bottle should be used within 4 weeks, after this period the remaining product should be disposed of.
