The main metabolite of vasicin is ambroxol. Adhatoda has anti-inflammatory, expectorant, diuretic and anti-asthmatic effects. Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra): triterpene saponins (23%) - glycyrrhizin and glycyrrhizic acid and its aglycone - glycyrrhizic acid. Among the triterpenes, glycerin, licorice acid and licoricegenin were found. Mono- and disaccharides, pectins, resins and lipids are also present. Licorice preparations have expectorant, antiallergic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects. Terminalia belerica fruits: hydrolyzed tannins (30-40%), gallic acid, ellagic acid, hebulic acid. Ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale): lecithin, free fatty acids - palmitic, oleic, caprylic, myristic, pentadecanoic, heptadecane and arachidonic. Has anti-inflammatory, expectorant, antispasmodic effects. Used for the prevention of colds. Long pepper (Piper longum) fruits: alkaloids of this species contain piperine (3-5%) and essential oil. Among the alkaloids, in addition to piperine, methylpiperine, piperidine and others have been identified. Used for respiratory diseases accompanied by cough (bronchitis, bronchial asthma). Fruits of cubeba pepper (Piper cubeba): lignan - cubebin (2.5%), humic acid (up to 14%), essential oil containing camphor and menthol, cadinone, limonene, phellandrene. The fruits have an expectorant effect in bronchitis. Zizyphus sativa: fruits contain flavonoids, saponins, mucus, vitamins A, B, ascorbic acid, as well as proteins, sugar, fatty oil. Fruits of pistachio (Pistacia integerrima): tannin (50-70%), gallic acid (2-4%), diagal and polygallic acids, resins, starch.
