Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug. Bronchial asthma, constipation of neurogenic and endocrine origin, spastic constipation, "acute" abdominal syndrome, appendicitis, acute gastroenterocolitis, other inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity, stomach, intestines; increased acidity of gastric juice, intestinal obstruction; ulcerative colitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, uterine bleeding (not associated with the menstrual cycle), acute febrile conditions, depression and other diseases accompanied by suppression of the central nervous system.

Method of application

Place 2 filter bags in a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, close and let stand for 15 minutes. Use warm 2 times a day 15-20 minutes before meals: adults and children over 14 years old - 1 glass, children 12-14 years old - ½ glass.

Store the prepared infusion at a temperature of 8° - 15°C for no more than 2 days.

The course of treatment is 20-25 days. Repeated courses should be carried out after a 10-12-day break.

Overdose

Failure to comply with the recommended doses and prolonged use (more than 2 months) can lead to colic-like abdominal pain, nausea, a feeling of discomfort, diarrhea with metabolic disorders, dehydration, decreased function of intestinal enzymes, atony of the large intestine, and also cause a feeling of depression, increased fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, bradycardia, pain in the heart, increased blood clotting. Therapy is symptomatic (gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal, sodium sulfate).

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible (including urticaria, rash and swelling of the skin, itching, hyperemia, contact dermatitis). Possible occurrence of colicky abdominal pain, intestinal dysfunction, heartburn, nausea, bradycardia, arrhythmia, suppression of emotional reactions, mental depression, headache, anxiety. In case of hypersensitivity to valerian rhizomes with roots, sleep disturbances and the manifestation of the opposite stimulating effect are possible. If side effects occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Interaction

Possible decrease in the effectiveness of antacids, H2-histamine receptor blockers (ranitidine, famotidine).
