Pharmacotherapeutic group
Drugs used for functional gastrointestinal disorders.
ATX code A0ZA X.
Pharmacological properties
The drug contains active substances that act both locally in the gastrointestinal tract and have a central effect on the secretory and motor functions of the stomach.
Potentilla anserinum (goose foxglove) has an antispasmodic effect on the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract.
Liquiritiae radix (licorice root) contains glycyrrhizic acid, which has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect and stimulates the formation of granulation tissue, as well as reduces the tone and motility of the gastrointestinal tract (spasmodic effect). Vascularization of the gastric mucosa increases.
Matricariae (chamomile) has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and regenerating effects. Chamazulene quickly and deeply penetrates the mucous membrane. Activation of the pituitary-adrenal system leads to an increased release of corticotropin and cortisone. Anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects are also possessed by b-farnesene and a-bisabolol.
Cnicus benedictus (cardobenedict) contains the bitter glycoside cnicine, which, like the bitter substances contained in Angelica officinalis (angelica), improves blood supply to the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, thereby accelerating the healing of ulcers and lesions of the gastric mucosa.
The bitter substance Artemisia absinthium (wormwood) increases the tone of the cascade stomach and reduces the symptoms of gastrocardial syndrome.
Hypericum perforatum (St. John's wort) affects the most important ulcerogenic factor, i.e. psychovegetative disorders. Hypericum perforatum has an anticholinergic effect and also reduces the secretion of gastric juice.
Indication
Functional dyspepsia, flatulence, gastritis, including chronic hyperacid gastritis, as well as as part of the complex treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers.
Contraindication
History of pelvic bleeding, anemia, epilepsy, hypertension (stage III), gallstone disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Medicines containing St. John's wort are not recommended for patients taking antibiotics, antiviral drugs, sulfonamides, antihypertensive drugs (calcium channel blockers), hypocholesterolemic drugs, coumarin anticoagulants, cyclosporine, oral contraceptives, digoxin, antidepressants.
Taking a drug containing wormwood may affect the effects of other medications that act through GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptors, so it is recommended to avoid simultaneous administration with drugs such as benzodiazepines and their derivatives.
Application features
The drug contains 40% (v/v) ethanol.
1 drop of the drug contains 0.016 g of ethanol.
Caution should be exercised when used in patients with liver disease, central nervous system damage, and alcoholism, as each dose of the drug may pose a risk to the health of these patients.
Due to the presence of extracts of angelica root and St. John's wort in the medicinal product, it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
The formation of flakes or cloudiness observed in liquid forms of herbal preparations does not cause negative effects and does not reduce the effectiveness of the drug.
