Gensulin M30 suspension for injection is indicated for the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus requiring insulin.

Composition

Active ingredient: recombinant human insulin (mixture of 30% soluble and 70% isophane insulin);

1 ml of suspension contains 100 U of recombinant human insulin (a mixture of 30% soluble insulin and 70% isophane insulin);

Excipients: m-cresol; phenol; glycerol; protamine sulfate; zinc oxide; sodium dihydrogen phosphate, dihydrate; hydrochloric acid (diluted) water for injections.

Contraindication

Hypoglycemia. Hypersensitivity to the drug Gensulin M30 and any of its components, except when used as desensitizing therapy.

Do not administer intravenously.

Method of application

In clinical practice, many treatment regimens with human insulin are known. The choice of an individual regimen suitable for a particular patient should be made by the doctor, taking into account the need for insulin. Based on the established blood glucose concentration, the doctor determines the necessary dosage and type of insulin preparation for a particular patient. In type 2 diabetes, the average initial dose is 0.2 U / kg of body weight.

Gensulin M30 is intended for subcutaneous injections. In exceptional cases, it can be administered intramuscularly. Gensulin M30 should be administered 15-30 minutes before a meal. 10-20 minutes before the planned administration, insulin should be removed from the refrigerator to warm to room temperature.

Before administration, the insulin vial or cartridge should be carefully inspected. The Gensulin M30 suspension should be uniformly opaque (uniformly cloudy or milky in appearance).

Particular attention should be paid to ensuring that the needle is not inserted into the lumen of a blood vessel during insulin injection.

Insulin does not cross the placental barrier. For patients who developed diabetes before pregnancy or during pregnancy (gestational diabetes), it is very important to maintain good control of carbohydrate metabolism throughout pregnancy.

Children

There is insufficient experience with the use of the drug in children.

Drivers

Patients should be advised of the precautions to be taken before driving to avoid exacerbations of hypoglycaemia, particularly if early warning signs of hypoglycaemia are absent or subtle or if exacerbations of hypoglycaemia occur frequently. In such circumstances, they should not drive.

Overdose

In case of an overdose of insulin, symptoms of hypoglycemia appear, including hunger, apathy, dizziness, muscle tremors, disorientation, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, increased sweating, vomiting, headache, confusion. In case of moderate hypoglycemia, it is enough to take a sweet liquid or food rich in carbohydrates. Rest is recommended. Patients should carry sugar in pieces, glucose or sweets. It is not recommended to eat chocolate, because the fat contained in it delays the absorption of glucose.

Side effects

If symptoms of severe hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia with the development of ketoacidosis are present, immediate medical intervention is necessary. The most common adverse reactions observed with insulin therapy include hypoglycemia (decreased blood glucose levels) and hyperglycemia (increased blood glucose levels), as well as local manifestations of allergic reactions.

Interaction

Gensulin M30 should not be mixed with insulins of animal origin, as well as with biosynthetic insulins from other manufacturers. Many drugs (including some antihypertensive and cardiac drugs, drugs that lower serum lipid levels, drugs used in pancreatic diseases, some antidepressants, antiepileptic drugs, salicylates, antibacterial drugs, oral contraceptives) can affect the action of insulin and the effectiveness of insulin therapy.

Storage conditions

After opening the package, store for 28 days at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Store at 2-8°C, protected from light. Do not freeze.
