Pharmacodynamics
The drug has a complex therapeutic effect on the genitourinary system.
In patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (adenoma), it restores the physiological balance of sex hormones, inhibits prostate growth and improves bladder function, restores normal urination (reduces retention and strengthens the urine stream, facilitates the process of emptying the bladder, reduces the frequency of urination, including at night).
The drug exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects, improves blood circulation and reduces stagnation in the pelvic organs, thus eliminating one of the main causes of the development and exacerbation of prostatitis, and provides effective prevention of inflammatory complications in patients with adenoma.
In patients with prostatitis, the drug reduces urination disorders, pain and burning during urination, during sexual intercourse. Improves the composition of the prostate secretion, which is necessary for the implementation of male reproductive function. Restores cavernous blood flow, improves sexual function in patients with prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia, reduces the risk of infertility and impotence.
Indication
In the complex treatment of acute and chronic prostate diseases (benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis), bladder diseases (bladder atony, cystitis) in men and women, urination disorders of various origins, including in the postoperative period.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism). Hypersensitivity to salicylates.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Clinically significant interactions of Gentos® with other drugs have not been established. The drug can be combined with any drugs and treatment methods, except for ointments containing camphor, as they may affect the effect of the drug.
When using toothpastes and drops that have an intense odor due to the presence of menthol and eucalyptus, the drug should be taken half an hour before or half an hour after their use.
Application features
The tablet dosage form contains lactose, therefore patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should take this medicine instead of tablets.
Gentos® should be used in the form of drops.
If symptoms of the disease persist for more than 7 days from the start of treatment, or new symptoms appear during prolonged treatment, you should consult a doctor.
Since Gentos® contains natural plant components, a slight change in the taste and color of the tablet may occur during storage, which does not lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Information on any risk to the fetus and child from the use of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been registered to date. It is recommended to use the drug with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The ability to influence the reaction speed when driving or working with other mechanisms
The drug has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive vehicles and reaction speed when working with mechanisms.
Method of administration and doses
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 2 times a day.
To achieve maximum effect, Gentos® should be taken 30 minutes before or 1 hour after a meal; it is recommended to keep the tablet in the mouth until completely dissolved.
To accelerate recovery at the beginning of treatment, as well as in cases requiring rapid relief of symptoms (for example, cystitis), it is recommended to take the drug 4 times a day for the first 2 days of treatment, and then take it 2 times a day.
Treatment course:
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the nature of the disease.
Usually the course of treatment is:
- for acute prostatitis, acute cystitis – 2 weeks;
- for benign prostatic hyperplasia (adenoma), chronic prostatitis, chronic cystitis, bladder atony, chronic urination disorders of various origins – up to 3 months.
Children
Due to the lack of sufficient data, the drug is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been identified.
Adverse reactions.
In exceptional cases, allergic reactions are possible in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Expiration date
5 years.
Storage conditions
Store in the original cardboard packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.
Keep out of reach of children.
