Pharmacodynamics.

The drug exhibits a stimulating, tonic, hypertensive effect. It enhances the processes of excitation in the neurons of the cortex and brain stem, improves reflex activity, activates metabolism, and increases efficiency. The effects of the drug are dose-dependent: when used in low doses, there is an increase in excitation and a weakening of inhibitory processes, in high doses - an increase in the latter.

Clinical characteristics.

Decreased mental and physical performance, asthenic conditions, recovery period after serious illnesses, weakening of sexual function of neurasthenic genesis (as part of complex therapy).

Contraindication.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. arterial hypertension, increased excitement, insomnia, tendency to bleeding, acute infectious diseases, epilepsy.

Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions.

Ginseng, tincture enhances the effect of psychostimulants, analgesics, anesthetics, caffeine, camphor, phenamine and other central nervous system stimulants. reduces the effect of hypnotics, neuroleptics. the drug is a physiological antagonist of barbiturates, so their simultaneous use is not rational. do not use together with antidepressants, alcohol.

Possible reduction of the anticoagulant effect of warfarin, may also interact with other anticoagulants (heparin). Interaction with phenelzine (MAO inhibitor) is excluded.

The drug increases the clearance of sulfoxidalbendazole (anthelmintic).

In combination with digoxin, it can be used only as directed, while monitoring the increase in digoxin concentration in the blood.

The drug is an antagonist of drugs that suppress CNS functions (tranquilizers, anticonvulsants).

Application features.

Ginseng tincture should not be taken in the afternoon. It is important to note that taking the drug is most effective in autumn and winter.

Since the preparation contains ethanol, it is not recommended to use ginseng tincture while driving or operating other machinery.

Method of administration and doses.

Take orally 30-40 minutes before meals. A single dose for adults is 15 to 20 drops. Take the drug 2 times a day for 30-40 days. Repeated courses of treatment should be carried out after 2-3 weeks (if necessary).

Children aged 12 and over should take 1 drop per 1 year of life.

Overdose.

Symptoms: headache and dizziness, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, increased body temperature, respiratory distress, loss of consciousness, bleeding.

Treatment: gastric lavage, use of sorbents. Symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions.

Allergic reactions are possible (including skin redness, roseola rash, itching), bleeding gums and nasal mucosa (in severe cases, traces of blood in vomit and feces), increased blood pressure, increased excitability, insomnia, headache, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting.
