The GlucoDr.S blood glucose monitoring system is intended for the self-determination outside the body (in vitro diagnostics) of the quantitative glucose level in fresh whole capillary blood collected from the fingertip. The GlucoDr.S blood glucose monitoring system is intended for use by individuals with diabetes as a means of controlling blood glucose levels. The GlucoDr.S blood glucose monitoring system should not be used for the diagnosis or screening of diabetes mellitus, nor for neonatal diagnostics.

For professional use

The GlucoDr.S Blood Glucose Monitoring System is intended for the self-determination outside the body (in vitro diagnostics) of the quantitative glucose level in fresh whole capillary blood collected from the fingertip. The GlucoDr.S Blood Glucose Monitoring System is intended for use by healthcare professionals as a means of monitoring the blood glucose level of patients. The GlucoDr.S Blood Glucose Monitoring System should not be used for the diagnosis or screening of diabetes mellitus, nor for neonatal diagnostics.

For healthcare professionals

Venous blood glucose determination should be performed within 15 minutes of blood collection to avoid errors due to glycolysis. To avoid temperature effects, the venous blood sample should be maintained at body temperature. Blood should be collected in tubes containing EDTA or heparin. Do not shake the tube vigorously.

How the test works

The GlucoDr.S blood glucose monitoring system is based on measuring the electric current that occurs as a result of the reaction of glucose with reagents on the gold electrode of the test strip. The blood sample is sucked into the reaction chamber of the test strip by capillary force. The glucose in the sample reacts with glucose dehydrogenase and the mediator on the test strip. The reaction causes the release of an electric current. The electric current produced is proportional to the glucose concentration in the blood, which is then converted to equivalent glucose concentration values based on algorithms programmed into GlucoDr.S.
