Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
BF-6 has a wound-healing and antiseptic effect. It is used as an insulating agent and promotes the healing of small skin wounds by forming an insulating film on the surface. The latter is elastic and resistant to mechanical and chemical influences. When coated with BF-6 glue, conditions are created for isolating the microflora of small root canals from the products of tissue destruction.
Pharmacokinetics
Not studied due to low systemic absorption of the drug.
Indications for use
BF-6 glue is used to treat microtraumas - scratches, scrapes, cuts and other minor skin damage, as well as to cover the root of the tooth during surgical treatment of foci of periradicular dental infection: cysts, granulomas.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautions
Medical glue BF-6 is not recommended to be used without necessity or doctor's recommendation. To enhance the therapeutic effect, it is recommended to dry the treated area in the fresh air. It is not necessary to bandage the treated area, as this increases the drying time of the glue and worsens the quality of the formed film. Medical glue BF-6 contains an alcoholic solution of modified phenol-formaldehyde resin, polyvinyl butyral and rosin, therefore the drug is contraindicated for children under 1 year of age.
Application features
For topical use only! In case of contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult a doctor.
Impact on reaction speed when driving or operating machinery
No effect.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use is possible in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.
It is not recommended to use on the mammary glands and hands during lactation.
Method of administration and doses
BF-6 glue is used topically in adults and children. Children under 1 year of age are not recommended to use BF-6 glue. Before applying the drug, the skin area is thoroughly cleaned of dirt. Stop the bleeding with a cotton or gauze swab and dry the area to which the glue will be applied. The latter is applied to the skin in a thin, even layer until it covers the injured area and adjacent intact tissues (a bandage is not applied). If the integrity of the film is broken, a new one is applied over it.
In the surgical treatment of periradicular infection, the tooth root is thoroughly cleaned of granulations and cyst membrane, bleeding is stopped, dried and the part of the tooth root protruding into the bone defect of the jaw is covered with glue, preventing the glue from getting on the bone. After 1-2 minutes, the wound is drained, observing that the periorbital defect of the jaw is filled with a blood clot. The further course of the postoperative period is normal.
The film forms within 2-5 minutes after applying BF-6 glue and holds firmly on the skin for 2-3 days, but in the root of the tooth for up to 7 days.

It is not recommended to use BF-6 glue in children under 1 year of age.
