Composition
1 suppository contains: glycerin - 1600 mg; excipients: sodium stearate; macrogol 400.
Properties
Mechanism of action of the ingredients: glycerin suppositories are intended for use in adults as a laxative for constipation of various origins.
Glycerin has an irritating effect, which when administered rectally (into the rectum) has a mild irritating effect on the mucous membrane and stimulates peristalsis and defecation. When used in the form of rectal suppositories, it facilitates the excretion of feces. Glycerin softens feces and facilitates their movement through the intestines and excretion.
Indications for use
Episodic constipation. Cases requiring colon cleansing, for example, before surgery on the colon, before X-ray examination of the colon, etc.
Method of administration and doses
Glycerin suppositories are for rectal use only. The following recommendations should be followed unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
Adults and children over 5 years old - 1 suppository once a day. Patients with renal failure.
Do not use in patients with clinically significant renal impairment.
Procedure for administering suppositories: suppositories are inserted into the rectum and kept there for at least 5 minutes, unless a bowel movement has occurred earlier. The remains of the suppositories are excreted from the body along with the feces.
If necessary, the dose can be increased to 2 suppositories per day.
If there is no urge to defecate within the specified time, you should consult a doctor.
Children: Do not use in children under 5 years of age.
Side effect
Some effects and symptoms that disappear after discontinuation of use have been described, including rectal discomfort, irritation, burning, colic and spasms. In addition, in rare cases it can cause hyperemia of the rectal mucosa, and in isolated cases - slight bleeding or mucus discharge.
Allergic reactions, pain, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding are possible.
With prolonged use, irritation and unpleasant sensations in the rectum have been observed; sometimes - catarrhal proctitis.
Contraindication

intestinal obstruction, renal failure, appendicitis, bleeding, diarrhea, hemorrhoids in the acute stage, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases, rectal tumors, undiagnosed abdominal pain, hemorrhagic rectocolitis.
The medical device may interact with other medications. Glycerin suppositories may reduce the effectiveness of other medications administered rectally. An interval of several hours should be observed.
Reservation
For rectal use only. Do not swallow internally.
Candles are intended for temporary use of less than 60 minutes.
It is not recommended to use suppositories for a course of more than 1 week.
Use with caution in case of impaired kidney function, allergies, nausea, vomiting.
