Gripocitron Balm is an antitussive in combination with an expectorant. To relieve the symptoms of colds and respiratory diseases with excessive sputum production.
Warehouse
100 g of the drug contain: Scots pine oil (Pini sylvestris aetheroleum) 3 g, eucalyptus oil (Eucalypti aetheroleum) 10 g; excipients: cetostearyl alcohol, glycerol monostearate, polyethylene glycol stearate, polyethylene glycol cetostearyl ether, trometamol, anhydrous citric acid, purified water.Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug. Bronchial asthma, whooping cough, tendency to seizures. Damaged skin, for example, with burns and impaired skin integrity.
Method of application
Friction.
For rubbing, the drug is used undiluted.
A strip of emulsion 3-5 cm long is applied to the skin of the chest several times a day and rubbed in well.
Inhalation of vapors.
It is recommended to perform 3 inhalations of steam daily for several days until the symptoms disappear. A strip of emulsion 3-5 cm long (1 teaspoon) is dissolved in 1-2 liters of hot water and the steam is inhaled under a towel placed on the head, or through an inhaler.
When using the inhaler, the emulsion strip is mixed with hot water in the lower part of the inhaler (for children from 3 to 4 years old, the length of the strip is 1-2 cm, from 4 to 12 years old - 2-3 cm, for children from 12 years old and adults - 3-5 cm).
Taking baths.
Baths are used mainly for children aged 3 to 6 years.
The drug is dissolved in water (36-37 °C) in the following amount: 2 strips of emulsion 10 cm long (2 tablespoons) per 40 liters. Bathe for 10 minutes daily until symptoms disappear. Additionally, if necessary, rub the chest and back with the drug 2-3 times a day.
If symptoms do not improve within 4-5 days or worsen, in case of shortness of breath, fever, pus or blood in the sputum, you should consult a doctor.
Application features
Do not apply near the eyes, do not apply to mucous membranes. After applying the drug, hands should be thoroughly dried to prevent contact with the face (especially the eyes). It is necessary to ensure that children do not touch the skin areas on which the drug was applied with their hands. Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
Patients with cardiovascular diseases in the decompensation stage (severe arterial hypertension, arrhythmia, angina pectoris) should not take baths if their body temperature rises above 38°C.
Pregnant women
Since studies on the safety of the drug during pregnancy have not been conducted in sufficient quantities, the balm should not be used during pregnancy.
Children
Inhalations for children from 3 years of age should only be carried out under adult supervision.

Overdose
When used correctly in recommended doses, intoxication is practically excluded. In case of accidental internal intake of undiluted drug, gastrointestinal complications with nausea, vomiting, possible diarrhea, cramps should be expected. The resorptive effect should be considered only in extreme cases.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, including skin rashes, itching, contact dermatitis, skin and mucous membrane irritation, bronchospasm.
If adverse reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
