Hawthorn is a plant used in official and folk medicine in Ukraine and other countries of the world. The fruits contain organic acids, carbohydrates, sorbitol, pectin, ascorbic acid, beta-carotene, vitamin K, phenolic compounds, anthocyanins, leucoanthocyanins, catechins, phenolic acids, coumarins, sterols, triterpenic acid (ursolic acid).

Biologically active substances of hawthorn increase blood flow in the coronary vessels of the heart and brain vessels, increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to cardiac glycosides, slightly increase the contraction of the heart muscle and reduce its excitability, have a calming effect, and normalize blood pressure. It is recommended for the prevention of functional disorders of the cardiovascular system and the normalization of blood pressure.

Effects
