Composition

active ingredient: hawthorn fruit tincture (Crataegi fructus) (1:10) (extractant – ethanol 70%);

1 bottle contains hawthorn fruit tincture (Crataegi fructus) (1:10) (extractant – 70% ethanol) – 25 ml or 50 ml, or 80 ml, or 100 ml.

Dosage form

Tincture.

Main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid of red-violet or cherry color. Formation of sediment during storage is allowed.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

Biologically active substances contained in hawthorn fruits enhance blood circulation in the coronary vessels and cerebral vessels, increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to cardiac glycosides and reduce its excitability, which leads to a certain increase in heart muscle contractions. The drug is well absorbed when taken orally. The effect occurs after 30 minutes - 1 hour.

Indication

Functional disorders of the cardiovascular system (neurocirculatory dystonia), as an auxiliary drug for mild forms of heart rhythm disorders (atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal tachycardia).

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Severe arterial hypotension and bradycardia.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Hawthorn tincture may potentiate the effects of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmics. Use with alkaloid salts is not recommended due to the possibility of negative complexes. The drug should not be used with cisapride. May enhance the effects of hypnotics, sedatives, and hypotensive agents.

Application features

The drug is not recommended to be taken with meals to avoid interactions with food components. Patients with severe arterial hypotension and/or bradycardia should not use the drug without prior consultation with a doctor.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Contraindicated.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

The drug contains ethyl alcohol and may cause drowsiness, therefore, during the period of use of the drug, you should refrain from driving vehicles or working with potentially dangerous mechanisms.

Method of administration and doses

Apply internally before meals. Adults are recommended to take 20 drops of tincture 3 times a day, children over 12 years old - at the rate of 1 drop per 1 year of life 3 times a day until a stable therapeutic effect is achieved. The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and individual sensitivity to the drug and is determined by the doctor individually.

Children.

The drug should be used in children over 12 years of age.

Overdose

Overdose causes a decrease in blood pressure, drowsiness, bradycardia. The drug should be discontinued, therapy is symptomatic.

Side effects

Drowsiness, significant slowing of the heart rate, allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling).

Expiration date

4 years.

Storage conditions

Store in original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Sedimentation is allowed during storage.
