For the prevention of postoperative venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism in patients who have undergone abdominal or thoracic radical surgery, or in those who, for any other reason, are at risk of developing thromboembolic disease. For the prevention of blood clotting during laboratory tests, dialysis, extracorporeal circulation, heart and vascular surgery, direct blood transfusion.
Composition
Active ingredient: heparin;
1 ml contains 5000 IU of heparin sodium with an activity of 150 IU/mg;
Excipients: benzyl alcohol, sodium chloride, water for injections.
Contraindication

Method of application
Heparin-Novopharm is prescribed as a jet or intermittent intravenous or subcutaneous injection. Before prescribing the drug, blood clotting time, thrombin and activated partial thromboplastin time, and platelet count should be determined. In adults with acute thrombosis, treatment begins with intravenous administration of 10,000 - 15,000 IU of Heparin-Novopharm under the control of venous blood clotting, thrombin and activated partial thromboplastin time. After that, 5,000 - 10,000 IU of Heparin-Novopharm are administered intravenously every 4-6 hours. In this case, the dose of Heparin-Novopharm is considered adequate, at which the blood clotting time is prolonged by 2.5-3 times, and the activated partial thromboplastin time - by 1.5-2 times.

Overdose
In case of overdose, bleeding may occur.
Treatment. For minor bleeding, it may be sufficient to reduce the dose of the drug or temporarily stop its administration. For significant bleeding, the administration of Heparin-Novopharm is urgently canceled and an antidote is prescribed - 1% protamine sulfate solution (injected slowly intravenously) based on the calculation that 1 mg of protamine sulfate neutralizes 85 IU of Heparin-Novopharm.

Psychiatric: depression. Nervous system: headache, dizziness. Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Digestive system: increased levels of hepatic transaminases - alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (ACT), lactate dehydrogenase, gamma-glutamyltransferase and hyperlipidemia. Skin and subcutaneous tissue: rash (erythematous, maculopapular), urticaria, itching, itching and burning in the skin of the feet, skin necrosis, erythema multiforme, alopecia. Musculoskeletal system: osteoporosis, bone demineralization. Reproductive system: priapism. On the part of the immune system: skin rash, conjunctivitis, lacrimation, rhinitis, bronchospasm, asthma, tachypnea, cyanosis, urticaria, allergic angiospasm in the extremities, anaphylactoid reactions, anaphylactic shock.
Interaction
Simultaneous consumption of alcoholic beverages can significantly increase the risk of bleeding.
The risk also increases with the simultaneous use of Heparin-Novopharm with ulcerogenic, immunosuppressive and thrombolytic drugs.
