Composition
active ingredients: heparin sodium, benzocaine;
1 g of ointment contains 100 U of heparin sodium, 40 mg of benzocaine;
excipients: white soft paraffin, sunflower oil, corn oil, benzyl nicotinate, glycerin, emulsifier T-2, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), purified water.

Heparin ointment is a direct-acting anticoagulant that has anti-inflammatory and local analgesic effects, prevents the formation of blood clots, and promotes the resorption of formed blood clots.

Indication
Prevention and treatment of superficial vein thrombophlebitis, post-injection and post-infusion phlebitis, trophic ulcers of the lower leg, elephantiasis, superficial periphlebitis, lymphangitis; external hemorrhoids, inflammation of hemorrhoidal nodes after childbirth; superficial mastitis; localized infiltrates and edema, injuries and bruises without violation of the integrity of the skin (including muscle tissue, tendons, joints).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug. Ulcerative-necrotic processes, traumatic violation of the integrity of the skin, open infected wounds, hemorrhagic diathesis, purpura, thrombocytopenia, hemophilia, bleeding tendency.
Special safety precautions
In case of thrombocytopenia and increased bleeding tendency, the drug should be used under the supervision of a physician.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The effect of the ointment is enhanced by anticoagulants, acetylsalicylic acid and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The effectiveness of the ointment is weakened by digitalis preparations, tetracyclines, nicotine, antihistamines. The use of heparin may contribute to the prolongation of prothrombin time in patients taking oral anticoagulants. The drug should not be used together with drugs for topical use, for example, with drugs containing tetracycline, hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, with anticoagulants.
Application features
With prolonged use of the ointment on large areas and simultaneous use of oral medications that affect the blood coagulation system and/or hematopoiesis, coagulation time and prothrombin time should be monitored. If a long-term course of treatment is necessary and on large areas of damage in women over 65 years of age, similar monitoring is recommended.
It should not be applied to open wounds in the presence of purulent processes. The use of the ointment is not recommended for deep vein thrombosis.
The drug should not be prescribed for bleeding, applied to mucous membranes, infected skin areas, in and around the eyes, on ulcers and blisters. In case of blood clotting disorders, it is not recommended to apply to large areas of skin.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Method of administration and doses
The drug should be used topically by adults.
In case of thrombophlebitis of the superficial veins of the extremities, apply the ointment to the affected area in a thin layer.
(at the rate of 0.5-1 g (2-4 cm of ointment) per area with a diameter of 3-5 cm) and gently rub into the skin
2-3 times a day for 3-7 days until the inflammation disappears. The possibility of a longer course of treatment is determined by the doctor.
In case of thrombosis of hemorrhoidal veins, apply the ointment to a tissue napkin, which is applied directly to the hemorrhoids and fixed with a bandage (it is possible to use a tampon with ointment applied to it, which should be inserted into the anus) 2-3 times a day until the signs of inflammation disappear, on average 3-14 days. The possibility of longer use is determined by the doctor individually.
Children
Do not apply.
Overdose
Due to the low level of absorption of Heparin ointment, its overdose is impossible.
Adverse reactions
Redness, skin rash, urticaria, angioedema, hemorrhages, sometimes small pustules, blisters or blisters may occur. Local irritation is possible, manifested as burning, itching or slight swelling of the skin. The presence of methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218) in the composition of the drug may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed), when applied to large areas of the skin, systemic allergic reactions, hyperemia are possible.
Expiration date
3 years.
