Pharmacotherapeutic group

Drugs used in throat diseases. ATX code R02A X.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

A combined drug that exhibits a long-lasting local effect. The antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and cleansing effects of the drug are due to three active ingredients.

Biclotymol has a bactericidal effect on staphylococci, streptococci and corynebacteria. It coagulates microbial cell proteins.

Biclotymol and enoxolone have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of the drug.

Lysozyme – a natural polymucosaccharide – has antibacterial action against gram-positive bacteria and exhibits antiviral activity. On the other hand, it enhances humoral immune and local cellular defense. By inhibiting histamine, lysozyme participates in the anti-inflammatory reaction, and also promotes the rapid removal of metabolic products from damaged tissues.

The drug is absorbed through the mucous membranes very slowly, which ensures its long-term presence in the oral cavity.

Indication

Local treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis. Inflammation of the gingival margin.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug;

children's age up to 6 years.

Special safety precautions

Prolonged use of the drug (more than 5 days) should be avoided.

When prescribing to a patient with diabetes or when following a diet to lower blood sugar levels, it is necessary to take into account the amount of powdered sugar in each tablet: 1.054 g.

Since the drug contains sucrose, it should be avoided in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose/galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency.

The drug contains the dye orange-yellow S (E 110), which may cause allergic reactions.

If symptoms such as severe pain or sore throat, headache, nausea, vomiting, or a severe increase in body temperature occur, it is necessary to consult a doctor to re-examine the patient and review the treatment regimen.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

Simultaneous or sequential use of local antiseptics should be avoided, as undesirable interactions (antagonism, inactivation) are possible.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

There are no reliable data to assess teratogenic effects in animal studies.

To date, clinical experience with the drug has not demonstrated any malformations or fetotoxic effects.

Information on observations of pregnant women exposed to the active substances is insufficient to exclude any risk, therefore it is advisable to avoid using the medicinal product in this category of patients.

There are no reliable data on the use of the drug during breastfeeding, therefore it is advisable to avoid using the drug in this category of patients.

Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
