Composition
active ingredient: chlorhexidine;
1 pessary contains chlorhexidine digluconate 20% solution equivalent to chlorhexidine digluconate 16 mg;
excipients: macrogol 400, macrogol 1500.
Dosage form
Pessaries.
Main physical and chemical properties: spherical pessaries from white to white with a yellowish tint. The presence of an air core or a funnel-shaped recess is allowed.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Active against the simplest, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Treponema pallidum, Trichomonas vaginalis, Chlamidia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Some strains of Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp. are weakly sensitive to the drug. Acid-resistant forms of bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, viruses are not sensitive to the drug.
Pharmacokinetics
When used intravaginally, it is practically not absorbed and has no systemic effect.
Indication
Prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis). Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after installation of an intrauterine spiral, before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine examinations). Treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis, cervical erosion.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The drug should not be used together with detergents containing anionic groups (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose), as well as with soap. Soap can inactivate chlorhexidine, so before using the drug, soap residues must be thoroughly washed off. Toileting the external genitalia does not affect the effectiveness and tolerability of pessaries, since the drug is used intravaginally.
Concomitant use with iodine is not recommended.
Application features
Contact with hypochlorite bleaching agents on fabrics that have previously been in contact with a product containing chlorhexidine may contribute to the appearance of brown stains on the fabric.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms

Not contraindicated.
Method of administration and doses
The drug is used vaginally. Before use, the pessary should be removed from the contour cell packaging. For treatment, 1 pessary is used 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days, depending on the nature of the disease. If necessary, the course of treatment may be extended to 20 days. For the prevention of venereal diseases, 1 pessary is used no later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse.
Children
There is no experience of use in pediatric practice.

Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions and itching are possible, which disappear after discontinuation of the drug. Burning and irritation are possible at the site of pessary insertion.
