Hilo-Komod eye drops 1 mg/ml multidose container 10 ml

Instructions for use Hilo-Komod eye drops 1 mg/ml multidose container 10 ml
Composition
active ingredient: hyaluronic acid;
1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of sodium hyaluronate;
Excipients: anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate, sorbitol (E 420), water for injections.
Dosage form
Eye drops.
Main physicochemical properties: transparent colorless solution.
Pharmacotherapeutic group
Means used in ophthalmology. Artificial tear fluid substitutes and other neutral preparations. ATX code S01X A20.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
The main goal of dry eye treatment is to increase the stability and volume of the precorneal tear film. Hyaluronic acid, which is part of the drug in the form of sodium hyaluronate, has a chemical structure, molecular weight and rheological properties similar to mucin, a component of human tears. Due to its properties, hyaluronic acid moisturizes the eye without impairing vision. In addition, its ability to bind water allows you to keep the surface of the eye moist.
When applied topically, hyaluronic acid increases the stability of the precorneal tear film, has a positive effect on the epithelial layer, helps increase the volume of tear fluid and corneal moisture, and also reduces the evaporation of tears from the surface of the eye.
Pharmacokinetics
Sodium hyaluronate is not absorbed after topical application. There is no evidence that hyaluronic acid can penetrate the cornea. Even after direct injection into the inner chamber of the eye, only insignificant concentrations of hyaluronic acid were found in the bloodstream, which were rapidly metabolized by the liver; therefore, systemic toxic reactions are not expected when using the drug.
Indication
Symptomatic treatment of corneal and conjunctival dryness ("dry eye" syndrome).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The simultaneous use of HILO-COMOD eye drops with other ophthalmic drugs should be avoided. If such a need still exists, these drugs should be instilled no later than 30 minutes before the use of HILO-COMOD eye drops. However, eye ointments should always be applied last.
Since, with topical ophthalmic application, the drug immediately reaches the target organ and primarily exhibits a physical effect (moisturizing the surface of the eye) and has no systemic effect, any drug interactions of the drug, other than physical interactions with eye drops for topical use, are not expected.
Application features
The drug is compatible with all types of contact lenses and can improve the feeling of comfort when wearing contact lenses. In case of severe or persistent dry eyes, you should consult a doctor.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
No controlled studies of the use of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding have been conducted.
However, the drug HILO-KOMOD can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, since it does not have a systemic pharmacological effect.
Ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms
In rare cases, immediately after instillation, HILO-KOMOD eye drops may cause short-term blurred vision even when used properly in normal doses. Since this may increase reaction time, it is recommended to start driving a car or working with complex mechanisms some time after instillation of the drops, provided that the clarity of vision is restored.
Method of administration and doses
Usually, 1 drop of the drug is instilled into each eye three times a day. If necessary, the frequency of instillation can be increased. A significant increase in the frequency of instillation of the drug HILO-KOMOD (for example, more than 10 times a day) is allowed at the discretion of an ophthalmologist and under his supervision.
In the absence of contraindications due to the underlying disease, the drug HILO-KOMOD can be used when wearing contact lenses, since it does not lead to the formation of a film or deposit on them.
The drug HILO-KOMOD is intended for individual use by one person only. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.
When instilling eye drops, avoid any contact of the tip of the container with the eye or skin.
Method of application
1. Remove the cap from the container. |
2. Before using the product for the first time, turn the container upside down and press the bottom of the container until the first drops appear at the tip opening. The container is now ready for further use. | 3. Tilt your head back slightly, pull back your lower eyelid and press firmly and quickly on the bottom of the container: this activates the mechanism to release one drop. Thanks to the special KOMOD valve system, the size of each drop and the speed of release will remain the same, but it will require more pressing force than with conventional drop bottles. Slowly close your eye so that the liquid is evenly distributed over its surface. |
4. Close the container with the cap immediately after use. After instilling eye drops, make sure that the tip of the container is dry. If liquid appears on it, avoid any contact with the eye or skin. |
Note: The KOMODâ system allows the release of 10 ml of solution, which is approximately 300 drops. For technical reasons, a small number of drops remain in the container at the end of use.
