Pregnancy tests are designed to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the urine. It is present in the body of both women and men, and its concentration can reach 5-7 mIU/ml. Much larger amounts of hCG are produced by the placenta, which develops soon after fertilization, and in the first trimester of pregnancy its peak occurs at 8-12 weeks of pregnancy.

The level of hCG in the urine of a pregnant woman 2 weeks after conception is approximately 20-100 mIU/ml, so at the time of testing, the hCG concentration is at least twice the sensitivity threshold of the test.

Advantages

Thanks to the special design, the test can be performed without collecting urine. This makes the testing procedure simpler and more hygienic. High sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml allows you to determine pregnancy from 7-10 days after conception. The test can be performed at any time of the day. However, since the concentration of hCG increases not only with increasing gestational age, but also throughout the day, in the early stages of pregnancy it is better to perform the test in the morning.

How to use

You do not need any special preparation, just follow the instructions. Using the jet test is very simple. Open the sealed package, remove the protective cap. Immediately after removing the cap, place the end of the test, marked with an arrow, under the urine stream for 5-10 seconds so that the liquid reaches the absorbent surface. Close the cap and wait for the colored stripes to appear. The result should be evaluated after at least 5 minutes, but no later than 10 minutes.

Excessive fluid intake can affect the concentration of hCG in the urine.
