Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) is a biologically active compound that normalizes the metabolism of the female sex hormone estrogen, thereby reducing the development of estrogen-dependent hyperplastic processes in women. I3C inhibits the synthesis of the proliferative metabolite 16α-ONE1, which binds tightly to estrogen receptors and causes uncontrolled proliferative processes, as a carcinogen for the reproductive organs of both women and men. I3C has a powerful antiproliferative effect, suppresses inflammation, growth and reproduction of transformed cells, inhibits the synthesis of the E7 protein in epithelial cells infected with human papillomavirus, including types 16 and 18, and inhibits malignancy processes. I3C activates the expression of the tumor suppressor gene BRCA1. It has high antioxidant properties. Cruciferous vegetables are a source of active natural indole substances: ascorbinogen, diindolylmethane, food indole, as well as isothiocyanates, the most active of which is sulforaphane. The joint action of these substances reduces the risk of developing malignant processes in the human body. Ascorbigen is a biologically active compound from the cruciferous family; when ascorbigen is combined with indole-3-carbinol, their effect is mutually enhanced. Ascorbigen acts as an immune system booster, preventing the absorption of toxins through the walls of the small and large intestines. Diindolylmethane is a compound formed by the combination of 2 I3C molecules, the effectiveness of which is significantly increased when used simultaneously with I3C. Sulforaphane is a biologically active combination of cruciferous plants that has antitumor, antidiabetic and antibacterial properties. Broccoli extract is the leader in the content of indole-3-carbinol. It contains a large amount of selenium (a trace element with powerful antioxidant properties, improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system, liver and gastrointestinal tract, increases immunity, stimulates insulin production), vitamins C, A, group B, anti-ulcer vitamin U, trace elements: potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium.
